Does riot think that adding a 50 minute queue was going to be the answer on release I think that they had a pretty good Idea of the capacity and the response to the game from PBE maybe they should of got the main client ready instead of dropping the ball on something that could of been staring the face. I only say this because this happened with CLASH as well and I don't want to see a good idea like this get pushed to the side because riot cant support the capacity of the game.

There is currently a bug that is causing the wait time to be longer then it should.

HOWEVER

The whole point of the queue delay is to PREVENT what happened with Clash.

There are simply too many games trying to start for the backend systems to handle. Without a delay, the whole thing would just self-destruct, and then no one gets to play.

The PBE is also a very small server, and they aren't very exclusive about who they let make an account. It also covers a wider area, note that there isn't a NA or EU server, but an english server. So it's harder than it seems to estimate how much it's actually going to be overwhelmed.
