Tone Down the Luck
So I started this genre with Dota’s version. And I started playing TFT about 2 weeks ago. I have to say I enjoy TFT better overall.
One thing I can’t stand in TFT, however, is the extreme luck factor. And yes I’m aware there is always going to be a luck factor in this type of game. But TFT is a bit much. I think it would go a long way to tone it down.
For example, just played a game where at stage 3-2 I had 3 items. The next lowest player had 6, and the highest had 8. I was absolutely crushed before I even had a chance to do much of anything.
I like how Dota lets you choose your advancement. It gives it a bit more of a strategic feel while still having an element of randomness.
Again just my opinion but the item randomness and how much it impacts the game seems a bit silly. Really makes it seem like luck is the overall deciding factor rather than strategy and adaptation.
*Edit to add that who you face each round also seems a bit to random and luck based.
