TFT Veigar Bug?

Last game I have a full item 3 star veigar which suppose to carry the game, but when I was against an elise, the veigar consumes the mana and wasted it. I don't know if the spiders are intended to be immune to magic or it is a bug.

P.S I really don't like the item slots, can you make it easier to manage the items?

Last patch they decided letting spiderpings proc Mana Burn (the demon buff effect) was the buff Elise needed. Mana Burn absolutely dumpsters casters.
