items rng is fine, but numbers need to be even.

rng is a huge part of this game. thats fine. rng of WHAT items you get is fine. however, the COUNT of items NEEDS to be normalized. i know that there are other threads complaining about it, but i've seen comments saying that all that will be changed is that you get a guaranteed 1 item, but that people can still get more than 1 while you get minimum. i dont care if one match has 1 item at the start and another match has 3 items at the start, as long as every player gets the same COUNT of items.

After thinking on this a while I agree. I think for TFT to be fun, there needs to be some real RNG going on or we will just see the same comps from everyone. It is not even close to complex as LoL is and if not a healthy dose of RNG, we would all see exactly the same thing over, and over. The RNG makes it more about decision making and cost-benefit analysis and doing it on the fly. There is none of that if it is all predetermined.

The random champs and items are great and I think healthy for the game, BUT the random item count variance is just nuts. If it were only an item or even 2 item differences we are talking about it might not be as bad, but when one person gets 4-5 item drop from the first sets, and then someone else gets 0, that is not even fun. I love a challenge. I am one of those horrible people that never FFs in LoL because I like to see what I can do even if it is from behind. For sure a lot of those games are still fun, but I have a good chance still. In TFT, there isn't even a chance. I had one game that I got every champ I wanted, but got almost no items the whole game. I got absolutely rolled at the end, and it wasn't even close even though I had a solid comp with 2 complete synergies and some partials. I had like 2 finished items, and if I remember right they were all defensive items. The dude I was up against had 4-5 full items. I did well, still top 3, but the #1 person just plowed everyone.

Keep the item rng, keep the char rng, but level out the chances of how many items. Either make a minimum item drop, so people cant get screwed by getting nothing, or make a seriously declining rate for additional item drops so multi-drops for the same person would be possible but very rare.
