Disucssing how disappointed I am with Riot Games development of TFT from Beta to live...

-As a player, when TFT Beta first was launched, I was overly excited. The game was balanced, strategic, and there was a lot of thought into every decision you made. I've been grinding TFT since it was released. In the beta, the only comp that was overbalanced was sorc/solari but at the same time it was slightly difficult to get since most other comps were so balanced and good as well...for example. You could play: Solari/Sorc Rangers/Knights Brawlers/Knights 6 Noble Assasin Ninja Assasin Demons Blademaster/Knights Draven Glacial/Ranger

^^^ All of those comps and more that I have probably forgotten were viable...

THEN, WHERE RIOT GAMES COMES INTO PLAY, THEY DECIDED TO ABSOLUTELY RUIN TFT IN THE MATTER OF 1 PATCH. HOW? -Only viable comps are... Ninja assassin (Akali) Brawler (voli)

Any other comp at high elo is unplayable, literally unplayable. YOU CANNOT RANK past p1-d4 with anything else but those two.

I was in a game recently, where 7/8 of the players went akali/voli and the one player who didn't...BY NO SUPRISE placed 8th...CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY RIOT DECIDED TO MAKE ALL OF THESE CHANGES TO COMPLETELY MAKE THE GAME ONE SIDED AND UNBALANCED????

Strategy doesn't matter anymore. Money management doesn't matter anymore. Its literally the first person to get Ninja Assasin lvl 2 with a stacked akali or Voli with brawlers/glacial INSTANTLY win.

I'm so utterly mind blown at Riot Games incompetence. TFT was balanced and well thought out in the beta, all that needed to be done was nerf solari/sorc...for example, limiting ONE SOLARI per player and reducing it to 200 HP instead of 300, and making sure everyone gets atleast 1 item from PVE spawns each round. Thats ALL that needed to be done. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

TFT is literally now unplayable at high elo because you CANNOT simply climb without going one of those two comps...

MAKE THE CHANGES THAT NEED TO BE MADE.

Please upvote this post and get Riot game designers to see this to realize how disappointing this is to the players, it really is INEXCUSABLE how bad they have made the game within 1 patch. Sad...

While Akali / Voli are obviously over performing and need to be adjusted, I think you are a bit biased.

Did you ever think all of those synergies were "viable" because almost nobody knew what they were doing?

Metas are going to be established in competitive online games like these no matter what Riot does. As long as they remain active and making changes I'm not waving the doomsday flag quite yet.

Maybe it's just me, but it has never been even remotely close to balanced to me.

  1. Having 3 of the same item should have never been a thing.

  2. The stuns of Glacials being based on autoattacks is a joke, the % chance of stuns needs to be really low since that % stacks with the number of glacials and attack speed. You literally have your whole team permastunned for the whole match, you can't even build items to counter that since tenacity is still not a thing in tft. The problem is not just autoattacks, but also their spells, on top of permastunning you with autoattacks they will also stun you with their ults.

  3. The noble's bonus is too strong (even if the champ who gets it is rng) early game and too easy to archieve since half of the nobles cost 1 gold. Garen can literally 1v3 early game just because of that.

  4. Knight's bonus is only """good""" during the first rounds.

  5. Yordle's bonus should be reworked into something else. It's completely unfun both to play and to play against, either they suck or are op completely based on your luck. Such fun!

  6. AT LEAST 1 item for PVE round should be guaranteed. 1 gold instead of that is nothing but an horrible joke.

  7. Some champions are obviously overpowered compared to the rest. They work really well even without bonuses.

  8. Demons have been overbuffed.

And probably i also forgot other things. Fact is, they are trying to keep the game as much RNG as possible so that people who don't know what they are doing they can still win, plus RNG requires less balancing which means less work for the Riot's team.

Knights... LOL at this point could DOUBLE all the damage reductions on knights to 40/80/160 and would still lose

Looking at the comments. I agree and disagree with some of you.

  • Yes Hearthstone and other card games are RNG, but not THIS RNG in THIS META of TFT, if you don't go volibear/akali...the game is literally unplayable. You simply cannot place 1st.
  • Secondly, Knights need a buff, sorcs need a buff now, ninja assasins need a HUGE nerf, brawlers and voli need a huge nerf. Demons are pretty balanced in my opinion. Cursed blade is disgusting...needs a nerf.
  • In beta, the game was balanced. Income was important, saving properly was important. Rolling down was important. Knowing when to push your lead was important. 8-10 viable comps, the game was well made and balanced, now its pretty awful...in a span of 1 patch. Gunslingers fall of too hard unless you get 3-4 tier 3 units.

Continue to conversation. Please give me your inputs. I want riot to make changes. TFT has alot of potential but not in its current form...

The game is still in Beta and they are going to be making a lot of changes during the coming patches. Yeah those strategies are insane, I just came off a free win myself (surprise, assassins with Akali). I've also been getting wins with demons and also gunslinger with utility items (usually 3 item trist with Rageblade, Cursed Blade, and Sword breaker). I think there are viable strategies but balancing definitely needs to happen and it will. What baffled me the most was the pirate nerf and the assassin buff coming into the recent patch. Pirates were already complete shit and assassins were already overpowered. It is what it is. Riot games is insanely bad at balancing a game they've been working on for 10 years, so expect something thats been out for only a few months to be extremely bad. It will get better with time, hopefully.

Knights were not and are not a comp, idk about beta and pbe but on 9.13 everyone was fucking running the same champions Chogath Sejuani Gnar those 3 were fucking everywhere and it was unfun to just play heavy CC tanks with whatever you like and get wins because of busted aoe CC , i tried to go away from them but almost every comp was unplayable without 1 or more of them even 6 sorc.

i bet if ranked was in 9.13 you will see the same thing with voli/akali but instant with the CC tanks trio.

oh and little later we saw sorcs item abuse which become a pure nonsense overpowered thing that akali and voli are no where near it in power [they still use a gnar in there as will because why not?]

Knights are only good if you can pull of an early 3 star Darius or Garen with Dragon Claw+Thornmail/Phantom Dancer+Warmog, depending on whether the enemy is playing Assassins or Draven or not.

Even if you can pull it off, you're better off rushing a Braum with the exact same items for better effect and the chance to play Voli/Glaciel Elementalist/Glacial Rangers.
