That's a bug that will be addressed. When it does - when you start a game at 0LP and you lose (they didn't define what a loss was - assume "negative LP result?), you will be demoted.

To a point. The opposite ends up being true the higher up you go. I hit a point where I was only getting positive LP for 3rd place and above. 1st place giving roughly 34Lp where an 8th gives - 50 or more.

I'm at a point where I'm more likely to funnel down. And with the 0LP demotion bug being fixed soon... it's defs more likely to demote.

eg. To Promote I need 2x 1st place and 1x 3rd+ to promote.

To Demote (after bug fix) I need 1x 7/8th place and 1x 4/5/6/7/8.

It's pretty demoralizing
