I placed 2nd overall seven (7) times today. Shit's rigged.

5 of those games I steam rolled for 15-20 matches of straight wins, I get to the last few matches and end up getting rolled over. The last 2 games I survived with 36 HP and built a crappy inferno/Woodland type team to eventually beat the undefeated player in the game 4 times, then he goes and makes a formation adjustment and rolls me over.

I'm legit upset. Its like the Buffalo Bills going to the Super Bowl 4 times and not winning even once. But its SEVEN times I've placed second overall. After 4 or 5 it starts looking real fishy.

I don't even really play TFT but I started it to give myself a break from Rift. Holy shit the RNG is worse than old TFT so much so that I wish we had Old TFT back instead. Predator and Glacial are the absolute most sweatiest team comps you can run and every player is looking to run it down your throat. Your team desperately clawing through the Glacial bouncer champions to the enemy Kog'maw before he ability strikes you for the last HALF, not 25%, HALF of your HP is absolutely carcinogenic. Sometimes I would be able to beat the opponent if Kog'maw didn't strike me for 1/4th of my remaining HP. Like seriously 1/4th of my hp no matter his damage output is absolutely batshit, you don't think that's even a little bit too strong Riot? Especially when all the Glacial champions are the bulkiest champs in the game and can screen so damn well for Kog'maw?

Other things I don't like:

  1. Varus/Leblanc's abilities aren't instant cast and have a wind-up, meaning you can lose a fight on a last sliver of HP just because you hit your ability mana cost and your opponent didnt.

  2. 6 Mages strategy being absolutely useless. Its fun for some lulz but you get clobbered every time. Absolutely unusable in any competitive manner.

  3. Predator killing you at 25% HP. I might have a chance to win when it comes down to the last 2 champs on the board. Kog'maw could be a bronze shooting spitball damage and still kill your silver champ. The execute threshold for Predator is too large.

  4. The players that lost that had purchased the same champions that I have been using during the course of the game need to go back into the champion pool that I can buy from. I've lost over half my games because I needed just one Ivern or Varus card and spent over 200g in the last 5 battles of the match with zero luck.

  5. Summoned minion health is OP. There is a point where the HP on summoned creatures needs to be capped and we are clearly passed it. Summoned minions are backlining better than most assassins in TFT and its straight embarassing to have to 4 or 5 shot one minion before moving onto the next one when there's 7 or 8 on the board.

  6. And finally, there aren't enough items in the game to defeat the extreme bulk meta of TFT right now. You might get enough items to gear out one ADC to deal with it but the bulky champions are too common in the game and hold the best abilities being that of Glacial/Predator. I have only seen one Gold level Malphite and it was almost impossible to beat among the other bulky champs in the squad. Volibear, RekSai, Braum and Nasus need to be just a little bit harder to get.

  1. Not essential but yes should be changed because they're both weak champions.

  2. It is pretty good actually, but only combined with the thresh/nautilus front line to give 4 ocean which is an 8 man comp so comes on quite late.

  3. They do. I hardly doubt an Ivern or Varus 3 would have made a massive difference.

  4. Mostly agreed

  1. They're also stronger than most abilities? Welcome to tradeoffs?

  2. Its not useless, its about consistency. If you can get to level 8 with Naut + thresh and syndra-vlad you get ocean 4 mage 6 which is actually pretty strong. Consistent damage if you build up veigar with levels or brand with items and you can make vlad-thresh-naut very effective at tanking. If you get mages cap you can always drop leblanc for annie and roll....

  3. Do I agree predator is op? Yes. However you have to realize that is the benefit they get from running predator- to exclude the fact you too have certain benefits based on the comp you are running is naïve.

  4. That's literally how the game works. You have to realize however, that as you level your ratio of what characters you are likely to find gets dissipated over different tiers and whilst not just that, a greater number of champions from which to pull. By level 8 im pretty sure the rate for tier 1 is... maybe 20%? To find any one of those 1 cost characters based on how many there are? Not even counting the fact you have a varying ratio of likelihoods for different 2 cost, 3 cost, 4 cost, 5 cost, and any one of the up to ten lux present in the pool? If ur higher level you run the reality of having a harder time finding the same character.

  5. Ah, summoners. The ultimate counter to things like assassins, or light. The lesson? IF you see someone going summoner, you best be teching AOE damage. Otherwise tell Yorick he doesn't need to perform your rite, you will do it yourself.

  6. You have to realize trends beyond whats happening immediately. You think I care if someone goes woodland hyperroll? congrats, they'll lose later on. Look at the late game comps, adapt and build for whats coming. Learn to position. Glacial Beserker? Spread out more. Tank Comps? (Which btw, are garbage in the meta anyway cause Warden sucks with Mage being pretty good if you know how to play the game) Get sivir with a giant slayer and a 2nd desert.... 50% armor reduction.

TL;DR The clear pattern is you're playing to win the midgame reactionary to the early game, you look back at whats happening and counter it to win in the middle but don't look at the possibilities of what the late game options for people are, and walk blindly with your midgame comp into the lategame and get stomped. Poor positioning, poor planning, Poor strategy. There is a reason you have people with strong consistent winrates, Yes there is rng, but it is not "Favored" rng. You just don't know when and where to manipulate it. If youre rolling for tier 1 characters at level 8 you are not playing the game right.

riot made ajustments in the TFT game so winning it´s ultra rare now, prolly the same adjustments from the MM to make you stay in a 50% chance of gaining LP
