the phantom dancer in TFT renders assassins AND sword of the divine as useless options to ever want to use. why run a crit based build when a single cheap item can fully immune every crit thrown. Like make it prevent the crit effect of the auto, so you can still attempt to fight the champion equipped with it, so players are allowed to build sword of the divine and not screw themselves over by doing so.
but.... build an RFC...
You do know that It's only losing that effect because another item is going to have that same effect right? And one that even has dodge % attached to it so you have less chance of combating it
SotD is being removed.
PD is actually being buffed to dodge ability crits as well. Mostly for Akali and Arcane Gauntlet.
You gotta remember this is a niche defensive item. It offers nothing against Sorcerers not running Arcane Gauntlet. Also 4 Wild and RFC (next patch LW, BF + Recurve) counter it.
SotD is an option no WANTS to use, it's regarded as the worst item in TFT. It's been a really bad from the start and will be removed soon.
You have Rapidfire Cannon that will help you hit true Phantom Dancer even if your critting. Next patch we are getting Last Wisper and the new Wild buff (4 wild = all your team can't miss) that will help vs PD, in fact it will make it a useless item. Because you'll have like 3 ways to counter PD, New dodge item and Yordls with 4 wild, last wisper and rfc. Not to mention assassins are getting Kai,sa. PD is a easy to counter items, Its better to go for GA like 80% of the time and next patch it will be GA 100% of the time. All in all you'll cry for an assassin counter soon.
