Ludens & Locket Change on PBE

Currently on the PBE Locket and Ludens are looking to get changes. Changes from PBE wiki are listed below.

Locket of the Iron Solari Removed: Shield no longer scales with Ability power icon ability power.

Luden's Echo Removed: Damage no longer scales with Ability power icon ability power.

Currently, sorcerer comps have a lot of counter play. There are three main ways I think sorcerer can build, get the team or a carry to spam ults, stack someone with item 3089 and item 3285 and have them delete multiple people, or spam item 3190 to bulk up allowing for more ults. I am not going to say that item 3190 or item 3285 builds aren't over-powered, but I think removing BOTH of their AP scaling would cripple sorcerer.

Since sorcerer comp is a 3/6 person comp (I find its usually built to be 6) that relies on ults, and all of the sorcerer ults currently do magic damage, the sorc comp is hard counters by dragons (the origins & the dragon stages), as well as dragon claw. Sorcerer has a very strong early game WITH locket(s), or if you can get enough mana to spam cast. Sorc comps also have an incredibly hard time against Dragon stages, because if you build for ults then all of your build is blocked by dragon, and all that is left is squishy sorc with wimpy autos. Currently the only way to beat dragons with sorc that I've found is using phantom, having someone who has attack damage items, and or having an insanely tanky unit (such as Kassadin stacks with items) item 3285 and two item 3089 is an extremely strong build, but it is hard to get to. You need a unit with 5 item 1058 and one item 3070 , as well as 6 sorcerers. To get that many item 1058 usually requires carousels to be used for just those items and nothing else.

With this being said, sorcerer comp is getting a buff since it can achieve 6 units without Yuumi item with only level 3 units thanks to the addition of TwistedFate . However, I still think this makes sorcerers MUCH to weak, simply because of all the counter play to them. I am not saying that either of these builds do not need nerfs, but this change would completely remove any advantage of building them on sorcerer comps, these items would remain just as good on any comp, while also taking out two of sorcerers build. leaving the sorcerer class with less building options while having a lot of counterplay/builds.

I think a better alternative, if these builds are demeemed too strong on sorcerer, is simply reduce the amount the items scale, instead of removing them completely. Currently the ludens build on an Akali with two item 3089 and a item 3285 ulting and then splashing up to 4? units for 1600~ damage. Instead of removing these builds, nerf them if they are too OP. Or buff sorcerer in some other way besides adding TwistedFate .

They should raise the base(shield for locket/splash for echo) to compensate because locket even with hitting all 7 is weak without spell power raising its shield even stacked. 6 sorcerors with these is pretty broken won easily with a karthus, morg, asol killing everyone while everyone was incredibly tanky from lockets.

The fact that it boosted those to begin with was unfair and unclear.

Did you also notice that Drakes (pve) are no longer immune to magic damage on PBE?

Cripple Sorcerer? Honestly bud, who the hell cares.

Literally every other class benefits from this because those items will now be usable outside Sorcerers.

Here's how it works:

  • One class is using an item because the item scales insanely in that class. Every other class doesn't use the item because the item in its base form is terrible.

    • Item gets scaling removed. Item base gets buffed when they realize how weak it is without Sorcerer buff.
      • Everyone benefits
