About current TFT meta (and why I don't like it)
So, the most played origin now is hextech. In every game I played there were atleast 4 teams with 2 or more hextech units. That's because hextech units are very easy to combine and grant really powerful bonus, countering some of broken items (I'm talking mostly about you, cursed blade) and making stacked units useless for first 8 seconds. That's a lot. Also it's another RNG added to the game. You have to remember that hextech units are quite strong even without bonus.
Second most played origin is (from my experience) noble. Every game I played there were atleast 3 noble teams and probably every game I played a noble team won the game. Why? Because they are too strong right now. Before their first buff, a teamcomp countering them actually existed- sorcerers. After first buff it was just fine- they were strong, but not too strong. Now they are unbeatable. I mean, how can a team with 125 bonus armor (because noble teams 90% of the time get a guardian buff too), 75 bonus magic resist and Kayle in a team lose? Maybe they would lose to a void comp, which I didn't see any time since 9.16 came out. Nobles' only weakness is getting them. But it's not really this hard for the reward u get, unless 5 players or more go noble.
Gunslingers are quite strong too. I mean, they would be if not a noble comp everygame. I wouldn't say they are overpowered like 2 previous origins I mentioned. Gunslingers are easier to combine than before and there's always have a possibility to get 6 of them for even better bonus (+1 champion attacked and free pirate bonus)
So why the current meta and patch 9.16 is bad for me? Because it killed diversity in TFT. Every origin I mentioned is present in every game. You hardly ever see assasins, shapeshifters, sorcerers. Blademasters became less popular (I mean 6 blademasters or more, I still see 3 blademasters quite often), despite adding another blademaster to the game.
And the second reason: I feel like riot was trying to fight with toxic items by adding toxic things to the game- hextech. It's bad because it's too strong, too easy to get, too RNG. Why would riot even want to add more RNG to TFT? Firstly Twisted Fate, now hextech bonus and a possibility to drop full combined item. Just... why? It seems like they didn't even want to fight with huge amount of RNG in this game, instead they just want to base it on RNG.
More about why I think hextech bonus is bad- for the same reason I think cursed blade is bad. It deletes enemy player's progress. It feels unfair and as I mentioned before- it's another RNG thing added to the game.
I understand that not everyone feels the same about the current state of TFT, keep in mind that's just my opinion. I hope that atleast some players will agree.
