PETITION TO REMOVE HEXTECH

TFT is possibly the most fun many of us have had playing a video game in recent memory. I've probably logged in about four hours a day since it came out two months ago, as many other players within the community can attest to.

  • The meta and meta balance "were" great
  • The items, item-countering, and item balance "were" great
  • The game mechanics in general "were" great

Well....

Hextech just obliterated all of that. Items are now utterly useless, once seen as essential for many builds. Forget about trying new team comps with unique item combinations. Forget range entirely, and many sorcerers builds, with the first 8 SECONDS of the fight now crippling the majority of your damage-dealers. This patch just re-shifted the meta to strictly bruisers/brawlers/knights that don't heavily rely on items. Get this post as many upvotes as possible if you want Hextech removed.

8 seconds.... come on, Riot. What are you thinking?

Guys, no matter whether you love it or not, it actually IS BROKEN. And not like when we say everything is broken, it is. I was first and lost to a guy at 4th who just swapped two champs and got the hextech buff. This isn't balanced at all. If it isn't removed at least reduce the 8 seconds to 3-5s. The whole round lasts 10s at best if one of the two players has the buff.

It's a trait that makes you play differently. Stacking 3 items on Draven is now a bigger risk. Sticking all your fame dealers in a tight clump is now a risk. If you keep doing what isn't working and whining about it instead of exploring alternatives, you can't be taken seriously.

I love it lol. Items being op or inconsistent? People complain to NO END. Riot adds a hard counter to items? People complain. Riot can't win here lol

I actually like the hextech trait. 8 seconds might be a bit long, but having another brawler, gunslinger, shapeshifter, and blademaster has made getting a solid comp together in the early-mid game more achievable, and I really enjoy that.

How do you play around it? Sometimes it goes to the nearest target, sometimes it goes for the most targets...

Riot definitely shit the bed on this one. The appropriate thing to do would have been to implement deeper itemization. What this mode is missing, for example, is a Banshee's Veil option. (Mitigate first spell against said champion.)

Hextech literally turns an enjoyable mode into an unfun mode.

The reason for this is simple:

  1. Get a decent item roll for once in your life? Yeah, f*** you, because Hextech.
  2. Hextech randomly attacks with no counterpositioning reliability whatsoever.
  3. The complete nullification of items is absurd. (This value should be far lower, like reducing item effectiveness or base stats to ~50% of full value, or something similar.)
  4. The duration (8 seconds) literally must have been determined by a colossal f***ing r%%%%% who doesn't play this mode at all. (In most cases this is an entire half, to 3/4's of a matches duration)

If you fixed any one of these things, it might be OK to play against.

For right now, it's literally the status quo dumpster-fire of decision-making one would expect from Riot. Did they try asking the janitor? Maybe he will have some better ideas.

I'd have loved to see the decision-making on that one:

"So we have an overall round duration of 15 seconds with an average round duration of 10 to 12 seconds. How do we completely fuck every comp or person who just happened to get lucky with itemization with no actual counterplay for at LEAST half of that time?"

Real bad.

it is so broken and also the item drop rate is not that high to get like 2 full items and when you put it on the champ you get it removed like WTF and if you have many items you will fuck up your damage dealer since you will remove all the lines and Wish to the RNG gods that it will not drop on the damage dealer

Hex makes me not want to play this game at all denying all my items whats the point of even playing? I will quit playing tft if hex is not removed soon

I think it's fine since it forces players to spread out their itemized characters & re-organize their players around. But, 8 seconds is indeed way too long. Reducing it down to about 4 seconds should be fine.

Where's the petition to remove TFT, period? #savetwistedtreeline

If you're getting fucked because one guy got a 2-man hextech proc, that's on you. Not Hextech. Hextech is easily defeat able just by proper positioning and NOT dumping all your items on one champ.

RITO remove that shit immediately
