Pugiles Esports Is Looking For Serious Players!
Some of you will recognize the name “Pugiles”. I started a team last summer that had quite a successful recruitment post. Over 50 applicants. I have started a few teams in the past. Every team I crate becomes more and more successful. Unfortunately The original Pugiles team disbanded. I blame myself for the collapse of the team. I showed poor leadership skills and failed to address the problems in the team effectively. The team actually did great! they were 9-1 from the 10 games they played. I have learned a lot from the experience and am ready to give it another shot!
Who are we looking for? We are looking for a set of mature, dedicated, and skilled players who are curious about the competitive side of league of legends. Players who have a burning desire to improve in the game and get their names out there. I know it sounds a bit “far-fetched” but that is what we are all about. We are looking for humble players who want to improve and never think they are good enough. Players who take the time to find the faults in their own play before scrutinizing other’s mistakes. Here in Pugiles we look to build an open team atmosphere. Where you are always encouraged to speak your mind in regards to what went wrong in game and your ideas and suggestions to fix em. We are looking for players who are effective communicators in game as well as out of game. Players who can tell you top’s TP is up and also lets you know he/she will be running late for practice on a particular day well in advance.
“Well I am a skilled player and I am looking for a team to get into the competitive scene, But who the hell are you, what do you offer me, and why should I trust you?” Is what I am sure you will ask yourself during this process. As the scene progresses and Esports continues to grow it became apparent that the leadership roles in a team play just am much of importance than the players themselves. I have many years of experience as a leader. A leader in school, work and my community. Teamwork to me is a beautiful attribute when used right can help a team accomplish their goals. Additionally, I do live in Los Angeles, the heart of NALCS. I know that does not hold to much weight at the time. But I will be able to take advantage of any opportunities that may come our way. Currently Pugiles is but a dream, but a dream that is worth the hard work! Ultimately I want to create an legitimate Esports franchise.
I know this all sounds bold. I know the dream is currently just a dream. I understand even with this post I will not have a line of challenger player looking to join. I do not have the reputation and the credit to ask for that. I do however, Believe I can start an organization with great, low profile players and help the players grow to meet their personal goals. I know there are diamond players who tinker with the thought with being pro, you know you can do it but do not have the resources to move on. We are here to learn and grow together.
Needless to say this team is not a casual team. We are looking to have a structure practice. Idealy we are a team who will play 3-4 times a week. The times will definitely be flexible and we will be accommodating. We will not tolerate irresponsible players who consistently miss practice without notice. It is a poor experience to have 4 people show up and have 1 player (usually the same guy) not show up. Im sure you as a player would appreciate that.Worth mentioning I will not be playing on the team.
Alright so if you are still here reading this run-on post you must be interested! Unfortunately, like this post, the the recruitment process will be very long. It is hard to say how long it will take that all depends on the amount of applicants who sign up. I have no requirements. If you are bronze and you can convince me that you can play at a diamond level, then you deserve that spot. I know most of you who show interest can play the game (mechanically) So the recruitment process will be more based on interviews. I am looking for the right kind of players. So this is what I have planned. First you must fill out an application on this thread. I will repost this thread a few times a day for 1 week. When you apply on the thread I will add you in game. I will give you a list of questions that I am going to ask. Once the week is over I will be contacting you on voice comms to conduct the interview.
I must apologize in advance, this process is very time consuming even when multi tasking. There will be times where I cannot get to you immediately. Please be patient. Finally, I must stress that it will be weeks before we play our first ranked game. Please keep that in mind. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask on the thread below!
