What if you were stuck in B5?

So here's the dealio M8's, I been demoted back to B5 4 times this year. I keep getting into teams with players that aren't skilled or familiar with teamplay an we just get pushed in hard. Things are getting kinda grim. I'm so tilted when 5 mins into the game my whole team is flaming each other and wanting to ff and report everyone. ... I have good Volibear supp skills and Leona as well. But I can't always find a good ADC to help me out.

Should I switch roles to make sure I can carry my team thru despite unskilled players (aka trolls an newbs) so that i can climb more?

What would you do if you were stuck in Bronze.? Anyone recently climbed out of Bronze with tips? Appreciate the fresh perspective.

I was in the same situation as you, prob worse. I was stuck in bronze for almost a year and at that time I only played like darius top. I was unfamiliar with the game. You have to adapt to new roles that allow you to affect the game, meaning carry roles primary. You need to always ward and make sure you at the very least MUST win your lane. By time, eventually, you will rise ranks. Maybe even get a duo partner to help with your carry. Trust me, its not forever. I mean now I have been to S1 almost 6 times, but finally it feels like im moving up again. It will take patience. Dont give up and good luck. Oh, watch pro's play and learn their builds/runes/masteries.

play carry roles. game is too hard if you play support. In bronze you can NOT rely on teammates. Just play yi, kat, cho etc and get out that way

I'd start going more aggressive with Leona, use her to her absolute limits, and same with voli. I'd also recommend picking up galio and maokai support, since they both have VERY strong utility, and extremely powerful teamfifghts, aside from that, learning how to play ADC well can help you with giving tips to your ADC if they're struggling, though jungle is a more similar play style to support. Good ADC champs to learn(imo) are tristana, sivir, and varus, all have good scalings into the late game and above average utility. Good junglers are VI, skarner, and amumu, tanky, but have large amounts of pick potential and extremely potent gank power.

I am in bronze V because of honestly some of MY mistakes but the majority comes from the lack of sense from my team. It is very possible to climb out of B5 but at this point im just trying to improve skills that are worth in-game such as CS under a certain time limit. Harass and learning how to do both of those at the same time while watching the mini map. Darius main/Vladimir main

So I never dropped to bronze 5 but I did carry myself out of bronze 4 in season 5 and I carried myself out of bronze 3 this season (and still climbing.) I'll be honest, it's really freaking hard to carry in bronze as a support. I tried it and after about 10 games I was like "screw this." It's definitely possible because I've seen others do it but in my opinion support is the hardest role to get out of bronze with.

You really can only depend on yourself in bronze so it helps if you play champions that can solo carry the game. This is part of the reason why I shifted to ADC this season because I feel like it's currently the most important role in the game (all I did was jungle in season 5.)

However, you shouldn't play a role you don't enjoy just to try and improve you rank. Since you say you like volibear maybe you should try playing him in top lane or the jungle (in normals first.) After that maybe more onto some other tanky champs like Maokai and Nautilus. You only need like 3-5 champions that you can flex to 2 different roles in order to climb in ranked.

So I guess the real question is what do you want play?

General tips

  1. You should be looking to get at least 5 cs/min when top, mid or ADC.
  2. Never risk dying for a CS.
  3. If a tower is going to die don't stick around and die with it. Just back off and pressure other objectives.
  4. Towers are far more important than kills.
  5. One kill for one death is almost always not worth. You should be looking to average a KDA of at least 3 and also have at least 50% kill participation.
  6. Track cool downs like flash, teleport, enemy ultimates, and even their basic abilities. If all of an enemy's abilities are on cooldown or he doesn't have mana then you should look to try and trade with them.
  7. Wards save lives.

I main support. I was playing mostly Poppy, pre nerf, and made it from B5 to B3 before i tilted and went back down to B4. I then started play Sona again, and as of now im back in B3 steadily climbing. Most of my opponents bot lane cannot seem to handle Sona's harass, or at the very least are too afraid to go all in on her early since shes super squishy early game. I will try Galio and Maokai in future games though, since im sure as i climb higher the enemies will get smarter.

Well, let's say mathematically you play at an average level for B5. The enemy team has 5 chances to have a troll or AFK, while your team has only 4 given that you are not a troll or AFK. So, even playing on an average level for your division, you should automatically climb albeit slowly. Not being able to climb is an indicator that you're below average for your division.

play ryze. ryze solo carries very well at low elos and if your opponents have weak laning phase mechanics, you should have no issue getting fed like crazy

I feel ya! Add me in game and we can play a few matches. I play any role, mainly jng and supp (i pref jng and played it longer but with the new que positions I almost always get choosen as supp).

Nothing worse then seeing your ADC do some stupid crap like 1v3'ing against bot lane and enemy jungler, dying and proceeding to blame supp for his ill-avised dive. All kidding aside, supp is such a fun role when you have a competent ADC!
