Tired of MobA queue's and dissapointed in team builder.

So ive been playing MobA games for a really long time. Dota 1 into League beta and then DotA 2 when it came into beta. Recently I have been playing on a few semi-pro teams in DotA 2 which means practicing a lot in my chosen role, grinding play on specific heroes until I hate playing them.

Anyways, after my last team broke up I was a little jaded and wanted a break from DotA. It's a commonly posted thing in DotA subbredit about how league has the awesome ability to queue into your selected role. Of course since 99% of the subbredit doesn't play LoL they don't know the details and just assume its like "Select mid/top/jungle/support/carry" and then you draft like you normally do, just with roles preselected"

Now I can say that after playing in a team for awhile and wanting to do some pubs again, I have no desire to go back to the randomness of pub selection. Sure, even if I am willing to play any role, there will always be that one guy who double calls mid or noone can jungle etc.

My main point is that I think role selection draft should be a thing and at this point im basically going to play whichever game has this option first. I don't know about LoL but most DotA players think its basically a no-brainier despite the waiting for supports that will obviously happen (you could also allow people to queue for "any role" and be a wildcard filler).

As for people saying "ohh we shouldn't have that in ranked people need to play and learn every role etc". When you played MobA for 10 years you have done it all and just want better matchmaking with real meta comp.

A ranked queue draft builder would take forever to actually have a game come up.

The more important question is, why are the unpopular roles unpopular?

Aside from that, picking roles would go a very long way to eliminating rage and bad games.
