Been 3 months since I quit playing came to see if ranked teambuilder/role select exists yet.
Dota doesn't have it yet either, will play whichever moba releases it first ;p

You'll never see it in Dota. Roles are not set in stone like LoL (there is no tank/bruiser/jungle, ap, ad, support). It is more common to think of 'em as farm position/priority. You can run numerous heroes in different functional roles. There is also no baked solution of roles that you need. Lots of pro teams will run dual roaming supports where as traditional low pubs will only have 1 support.
Won't ever be a thing. Maybe a ranked version of team builder will be added as an option after you get ranked solo twisted tree line, ranked dominion, and then it's a coin toss between ranked ARAM (plz can we get that mode before the others just for the lol) and ranked team builder as to which gets made next. If you mean picking your role in solo/duo ranked though (which it looks like) it won't ever exist because of the number of people who would stop playing if it did. There's a difference between being able to play one role, or one champ, and being able to play one role really well and the rest enough to get by in. Ranked shows your overall skill, and yeah one role can be a bigger factor, but your ability to play other roles and keep up is a factor too and your skill in ranked is a combination of weighted averages of skills in different roles and the moderating factor of your skill/understanding of macro win conditions and team play. Reducing that to ranking one role would have to be a different game mode, and there are a number of game modes that should get ranked before team builder gets a stand alone ranked.
