ARAM support gold items

I've played about 1400 ARAM games and I cannot see any situation where it is justified to build any support gold item. Can someone explain why it might be optimal.

Spellthief more than pays for itself on poke mages. Relic shield line provides much-needed early sustain for melee champs. Coin line provides more selfish sustain and has a nice active.
