Ranked Rewards

I've stated my opinion on this passionately and sometimes with too much conviction before. I want to voice this until it's heard and when it is... I want it to be considerable. I want it to come from someone who is honorable in there games and can be civil on the forums. I'll try to do that.

Why are ranked rewards based solely on division?

I can't answer that myself. I don't get it. It seems silly. Maybe the alternative I foresee is original or simply not voiced often enough. I'll get to it, but first... hear me out.

Borders are now only recognizable by teammates. They are a vanity more than ever now. That's exactly what end of season rewards should be. Aesthetic.

The Victorious skin represents that best, in my opinion. It stands for victory. (Duh) Who's victory? The individual player AND the champions prevalence that season. It is a mark of a player who participated in that season and was victorious in many of there games, based on division.

Why must it be that way?

Why is that bronze veteran with 300 wins out of 700 games, in that season alone not considered victorious? Compared to a plat player with a high winrate, but under 100 games played ... I'd say both of them have displayed victory in there own respects.

I just think that the skin should be obtainable through other means than simply making it to gold or above. Of course it shouldn't be bought. It shouldn't be available any other time. This is what makes it so valuable.

but, couldn't it also be based on games of ranked played/won in that season alone? Take numbers of defeat completely out of equation when it comes to this skin.

"Perseverant ___" anyone? :)

Traditionally the "victorious" champ/skin has been limited to a fairly small percentage of the Ranked playerbase. A free champ/skin is also a pretty hefty reward, given that you're usually paying $10+ in real money for that. I could see people feeling like it was devalued if it just became a "participation trophy" award, especially if it didn't require actually winning (which in particular would be terrible, because people would grind out games without trying just to get the free champ+skin).

I could maybe see a lower-tier reward, like a summoner icon. But I doubt they're going to give the Victorious skin to everyone.

300 wins out of 700 games in bronze is terrible, that just shows that you belong in bronze.

The only argument for ranked rewards is that Dominion veterans with high (hidden) elo should be given them retroactively for all seasons because fuck you Riot give us ranked already.
