Why don't the teleporters work on Dominon?

Cause they aren't teleporters? Though I agree that would he a hell of a nice touch..the shrine locations teleport you to another random one.

I could be wrong because its a been a while since I've played Dominion...

But aren't those the minion spawn gates?
