Please. Stop matching me (a level 19) up with Ranked people. As lovely as the "you're dead" grayscale is, it's not fun to stare at for half the match because a Gold 2 team got slapped into Team Builder with me.

Match me with others by level, not perceived skill level. Because what that's doing is creating this odd sine wave in my game performance, where Team Builder thinks I'm terrible, and matches me with terrible people. I wipe the floor with them, and then it thinks I'm a pro player. Then it matches me with other professional level people, who completely destroy me. Then it thinks I'm terrible again, rinse and repeat.

My level 19 smurf got matched with someone in master once. No runes and incomplete masteries vs that means there isn't a chance in hell I can win. Riots low level matchmaking absolutely blows.

Unfortunately this is the nature of the beast, and should Riot ever fix it you'll hopefully already be level 30. It does get better once you're higher in level and the game has had more time to get to know your level. Until then, just learn as much as you can as you level up. No one is stalking your match history to make sure you have a 90% win rate, so don't worry so much about losing an unfair game and try to learn what you can from these "pro-level" gold players.

Just shows how far down the ranks I am, I suppose. Even the people the pros laugh at for being noobs seem like pros to me. Amumu

Even if there were 100% actual new players in matches, with comparable experience and skill (i.e. perfect matchmaking), there would be huge mismatches and steamrolls. Nature of the game.

The big difference is the access to runes that actually matter. As a level 19, I have literally no reason to buy runes, because the ones I'll want to keep are available at 20. THEY have full rune sets, full masteries, etc. It's like when level 10s have to go against people with Flash. It's a pretty big disadvantage.

Don't use team builder, try blind draft or blind pick. More people use blind pick at lower levels compared to team builder which riot tries to get you into a game as quickly as possible so it adjust the range slightly with each minute etc etc. Try the other 2 modes available for a potentially better experience.
