  1. Works for Pros
  2. Meta Why...
  3. What is? Gamemode: Confinement
  4. Self-Imposed Shut Up Powers.

So just thought of an idea for a new gamemode if you guys at Riot are willing to try it out, and I figure the new forums might be a good way to spring board this idea so...

  1. As many of the league gaming communitee know pro players are "PRO" So WHY are we trying to copy them? Sure don't get me wrong striving for a better playstyle or a more efficient way to play that's great and all but I will say this one thing... Most of us that are trying to copy the Original (a.k.a. the pro) will fail because were not them. A copy is never better than the original unless its been practiced far too much and perfected and by that time you have the skills needed to pull it off anyway so why did you bother with the copying to begin with, would have been better to come up with your own style.
That said I'd like to say Doom Bots are a great addition but all in all everything is going to come full circle and come back to player vs player and that's the only recognition anyone is going to receive. Being good in Doom Bots will be dismissed far too quickly. Unless of course if Riot added doom bot skills to normal game matches after killing something similar to the baron for a buff, or fighting your own team as clones in a certain location on the map in order to unlock a small buff that allows you to use the same skills as the Doom Bots well that's something Riot will have to think about. But back to the topic at hand...

    1. It comes down to player vs player, now matchmaking is really mean now days. Everyone feels as though they need their super tight pants in order to play and you get bumped out of roles you wish to play and sure team Builder slightly fixed that... now people leave when they don't get a team they want. It's always "We MUST always have the perfect meta, tank top, ap mid, jungler, support and a ranged adc bot." OR something of that nature. Something doesn't fit in a perfect meta boom a wild leaver disappears and we're back to the finding match screen.
Whatever happened to breaking the meta and actually playing something maybe a little unorthodox but having a little more fun than trying to be perfect like the pros... LIKE someone the vast majority of us are not. Just because pros play a certain way and they do fine doesn't mean its set in stone as "THE" way to play a "Game" BTW might I ask... what is a game? The dictionary says something completely misleading to us gamers. Personally to me a game is something I can play and enjoy and play again. In a word, Fun. I play to win and have fun doing so, if your not having fun anymore and you start getting angry then why are you playing the game to begin with, sure you might die 2 times in the beginning of a match if you have the mentality of some people your game ends right there. Kinda bleak don't you guys think... You started a game and ended it within 10 minutes, if you want to play a game where you can't lose go play checkers... with yourself. Though this will not completely remove all the issues with leavers or meta must haves I do believe the following mode ... if created ... would hopefully relieve a slight amount of stress, help people to break the chains laid down by pros and remove copycats, and make the game a lot more fun.

    2. As seen in the title I called this Gamemode: Confinement. Appropriately named due to the fact that it will start out similar to a draft but with one major difference. Instead of banning singular Champions 1 person on each team or the game itself will roll a single die. This die however doesnt have a champion named on it but instead has Champion Attributes or something similar if RioT has a better plan after reading this. In other words the die will role for any of the following: Assassin, Fighter, Mage, Support, Tank, or Marksman. If Riot wished to you can even break it down further by throwing in the more in-depth attributes such as bruiser, pusher, etc. Maybe throw in just plain Ranged for added appeal. (Please Note: This is also where the Free Champion Rotation also has a role. To make sure there is at least 1 or 2 champions EVERYONE can play in this gamemode )

Let's just say the die rolled Tanks. All tank champions would then be eliminated and sent to confinement and are no longer available for champion choices. this allows for players to think a tad bit more about how to play or what items to buy. Because without a tank some people go crazy and think you can't initiate or attack. BOOM that's where some items come in Ohmwrecker for example. Without tanks you could use Ohmwrecker to initiate on turrets.
Making an end result more about fun, skill, item combinations, and how well people play under a different sort of pressure. The pressure of having an entire collection of champions fade out from underneath you and forcing you to become creative without something that can brace you up against a wall.

            4. I can go into more detail but this post is already long enough as is so I'm gonna end this novel here for now. Unless anyone has any earth shattering questions. Keep in mind though that this is simply an idea, there won't be any need for super serious debates on how the mechanics will work or something of that nature. Considering that it's all up to riot to decide if they want to make this a gamemode or not.

So till then Farewell gamers.

Please Note that apparently No matter what I do the formatting doesn't allow me to put in an accurate Table of Contents.
I do apologize but I think you are all smart enough people to figure it out.

This seems like it would be a less-random version of ARAM and taking place on a different map (although this wasn't specified). I think it could be a modifier to game types, but not a mode itself.

I decided to count it out so people could see how many champions we'd be knocking out with any given pick:

Assassins - 32 (27%) Fighter - 58 (49%) Mage - 50 (42%) Support - 24 (20%) Tank - 33 (28%) Marksman - 20 (17%)

There is overlap as (almost?) every champion has two roles but if you removed fighters from a game that's nearly half right there, more when the other pick is removed as well. Fighters and mages together account for 99 champions (83%) leaving only 20 options.

Akali, Alister, Ashe, Braum, Caitlyn, Corki, Draven, Graves, Jinx, Liona, Lucian, Miss Fortune, Nidalee, Shaco, Sivir, Teemo, Tristana, Twitch, Urgot, and Vayne, for those who are wondering.

This is an interesting concept, but it runs into significant problems at the champion labelling stage; Alistar is obviously a tank, but what about jungler, or support? Is Zac an AP? While you'd think there are clear answers to these questions, your answer set will be a lot different from the next guy's, and Riot won't exactly be held in good standing with a lot of players for "confining" their champion to particular roles. TLDR: people will have substantial disagreements on exactly how to divide the champion pool.

What I think would be a MUCH more interesting take on this approach, is to eliminate certain **item stats **from the available pool. This would allow people to still pick whatever champion they wanted, but eliminate the roles far more effectively (ex. no items give bonus health). Something like this would completely change the meta, in a way similar to URF; it would affect all playstyles, if a diverse enough collection of stats were eliminated (or even just watered down by a %).
