Find a way to encourage 5s teams instead of SoloQ. Make a Free Agent Tab.

There has to be something. Every game I go into where our team is bickering and fighting back and forth I've lost 9 times out of 10. Only time those teams win is when someone on the other team either AFKs cause we're good enough to stall out the game and he gets angry at his team or we just actually work as a team for just ONE fight and win.

Just like the majority of people who play this game so much and are trying to improve, what can we do that we haven't already tried?

I've started filling every game but saying: "fill, pref mid/jungle".

So, with that being said, here is my idea.

There should be a free agency tab on the league client. That can be organized based on the Data that is saved by Riot after every game.

For example, I have a team of four and we need an Mid within a certain MMR/Division. So I go to the FA tab on the client and select some options for what I am looking for in a player/Mid Laner.

1) Select Mid as the Position.
2) Choose the Division that I am looking for.
3) Select the top 3 champions that I want this mid laner to play.
4) Choose the time zone that I want the Mid laner to be along with the time the Summoner has available to practice/play.

With that, tons of selections will come up. How do you choose which one you think will be good for your team?

Well, you just can't make up your mind. So lets go back to the filter, and select more options. Now, you can choose/limit your selection based on how they performed in their recent matches for that Role/Position. I want my mid laner to average 250-300 CS a game with an average of less than 3 deaths a game.

Now that I've entered in these options, lets see the new selection of Summoners/Mid Laners.

Wow! Joe Dirt and Lemony Snickets match just what I'm looking for! Joe Dirt is online but Snickets isn't, let me send Joe Dirt a message and see if he is interested.

In order to be in FA you have to submit yourself. Not every summoner is automatically in the FA tab.

But, this is just my idea. Leave one, just spread ideas and awareness.

I just want to help NA out, let's improve our community.

i think this would be awesome, except include everyone automatically, that way if they don't want to join a team its no big deal but if someone thinks they are a good fit they can still invite them.

Some people may call this Team Builder but for Ranked. It is an interesting concept, but the most they will do is make Team Builder for Rank. However, considering they haven't even created Blind Pick Ranked. We won't see any new ranked additions for a while.

Nothing like team builder. It's still Ranked 5s. Not a new mode. It's just a way to recruit for your team.

Team Builder is a great first step.

I agree, we need something that allows us to talk to potential people we might invite to groups, rather than arbitrarily pick them based on champion and lane assignment.

This can be done with chat channel changes.

The Free Agent tab your describing is a bit overkill, but having a few things based on their ranked record (win/loss ratio and total games played on said champions) for filtering inside channels could work.

Nothing is necessarily overkill. Tell me, without using a third party site, what is your way of expanding your teams playing potential via mid lane instead of using just the people you played with?

I don't think choosing certain champions to look for is great, it would just alienate players who main a rare pick like Sivir even if they are absolutely amazing at it, because most would just look for a Trist/Luc or other very common ADC.

Other than that, I like it. I accept friend requests after matches and use those people if I need them, but I'd rather have a better way to find people than just happening to play with an ADC (I main supp) in solo queue that I like.

You do not have to fill out all options in the filter.

Not in the hypothetical Looking For Summoner™ tab, but if Rito likes the idea we gotta let em know what we want!

Well, this tab would be under your profile. If you are looking for Free Agents, then you click on your team, and select Free Agency from there. If you are looking to become a FA, then it would be where your team tabs are located.

Would your system have any changes on the way teams are currently managed? i.e. You can currently change out the roster as often as you want before you finish placement matches, but not after.

That's the only thing keeping me from doing regular 5v5 team matches; You get a team together, you do the placement matches, everybody logs for the night, and from then on no 5 ppl from the team are online at the same time. It's getting really old that I can't progress my 5's rank.

Razzer1 votes

That would be great, because I'm tired of getting a 5s team, winning 3 or 4 in a row, just to log off and they lose matches because they played with someone random.

Great concept but could end up badly Free Agents might mean that the same people are getting picked over and over again because they're generally good at what they do. A guy get's picked to be Mid for a team and they do really well, so then another team wants him while bronzies are sitting there in in their pile of bronze because no one wants them and when they play ranked their getting the teams with feeder or afk people. Even if they wanted to make a ranked team and use the FA tool then you come up with the issue that people might not want to be on their team because they are bronze. This means you still have the same people stuck at the bottom and their rank would never rise for solo queue. But wait! what if you went of their ranking for team matches but that rank doesn't exist. Very few teams are willing to accept a bronze player when they could go recruit a silver, gold, diamond player with the FA tool instead. The only way would be for a team of bronze players to have all 5 players already made or find other bronze players with the FA tool to play as a team and rank up to find a team they may actually like and not one they got smashed into. I don't know just my two cents on how this can end up being for higher ranking players only.

Well, there are steps to avoid that. Could limit a FA to 2-3 teams before removing them. Or the FA would have to just file again. When it comes to terms with the Bronze players, they would need to improve their play in SoloQ. The person registering for Free Agency could have the option to ignore invites from teams with an average of gold or below on the roster.

This FA tab could also bring up the idea of a Skirmishing tab? Who knows.

I absolutely love this.

Been saying it for all six years I've played. The problem with the majority of players behavior is not gamer culture, the anonymity of the internet, or the matchmaking and ranking system, it is the carry system. It promotes putting one player above the rest in a way that inspires self-centered and asinine behavior in nearly everyone. It causes degeneration in the conduct of the playerbase to whatever degree it appears, the playerbase in DoTA, for example, is far worse than here because DoTAs carry system is far worse than LoLs,. Meanwhile the conduct of the playerbase in the new MoBA Dawngate is significantly better, because there are multiple equal ways of earning gold, including team-oriented objective control, and therefore hardly a carry system at all.

Make the TEAM matter again, it is supposed to be 'multiplayer', not 'single player and assistants'.

Logged in just to upvote this. In game team recruiting options would be awesome, especially since they removed the recruiting board. I would like if it worked 2 ways though. First, let teams search out a summiner to fill a slot, but also let a lone summoner search teams that need a slot filled and send requests to the team.
