Dear Rito, This Community Doesn't Deserve to Keep Urf

Don't crucify me. I mainly only play League on weekends because my life are busy, but from what I've seen of the community in my 20+ games last weekend... HOW ARE PEOPLE RAGING IN FREAKING URF MODE?!

People are complaining about broken champions.

People are complaining about the fact that they "can't have fun" because other people insist on playing meta champions.

People get mad at other people for actually trying to win. I mean sorry, tryharding. -_-

This was happening consistently after a week of URF. Just a week of the funnest, (<Totes a word go drown in a well) most unbalanced, craziest face of League the world has ever seen, and for some reason people are discontent. WE'VE WAITED A YEAR FOR THIS AND YOU GUYS ARE UNHAPPY AFTER A DAMN WEEK?!

Ewwww....I love this game and I love a lot of people who play this game. But man. Some of the people who play this game really ruin it for a lot of other people.

In short, as a whole, we don't deserve to keep URF.

But...at the same time...I can't say my life will be better without this game mode. Terrorizing those puny mortals with AP Shaco, Jayce, and the snare sisters in botlane.

So Rito. This community doesn't deserve URF, but for the sake of those who really do try to make this game a better place, (I'm not saying it's me, I'm a dick some of the time, but you all know that one person who is just happy and enjoys himself [or herself, how to sexism...] in whatever situation he's put in.)

I'm petitioning that URF be enabled for one weekend of every other month or something. Please don't make us wait another year to play this game. I think it helps all those tryharding bastards who only play ranked and somehow their soul has been twisted or something I dunno but it's pretty bad.

Please Rito. I'm on my knees here. Let us have URF every now and then so that we don't have to wait. I think URF is one of the greater ways that Rito has aided players to be nice to each other, because they've made a game mode that is purely fun. Just purely fun. And sure, people are going to twist that notion eventually, but when it comes down to it, I've gotten way less salt in URF than in normals, and a hell of a lot more fun from everyone involved.

To conclude...Rito please give us URF more often than once a year. Even if it's twice a year we'll take whatever. But don't permanently enable it...the tryharding complainers would be too much.

I love how everyone thinks if urf mode stays forever, no one will play any other mode. Here's what I think will happen, the ranked tryhards will get bored and go back to their 9-5 job of escaping bronze, the people who like farming for half an hour but hate competition can go to normals, other modes will keep their playerbase, and urf will carve out it's own niche of people who actually like fun, and will be a nice relaxing mode there for anyone who had a bad game (just take away the win loss counter and put a warning that it's an unbalanced mode purely for fun and people will probably lighten up).

Hell, it might be better when the people who only play urf because it's limited go away, so I wish riot would stop feeding everyone bullshit excuses (that they somehow believe) and just let urf stay for a while and see if the doomsday theories come to pass.

we waited a year thinking it would be the same as last year and its NOT the same. None of the champions that were disabled ahve been disabled so its game after game of the same 10 champs that kids are just abusing the champs raw OP power in the game mode. tell me whats the fun of going vs a nid and jayce lane as a random champion? please explain how EVERY game you have kids prodding the most broken champs they can just to "have fun". I'm sorry but you don't deserve to make the decision for the MAJORITY of the players. When they take URF away they are gunna lose customers and they know it, but they know the fan boys will buy RP until mommy takes the credit card from them.

So you want to make a few rotten apples spoil the bunch?

Im sorry but your argument just falls short. Everyone complains about balance issues in every game mode, taking them away twisted treeline or dominion for that reason is not a sound option.

You even say yourself that most people have fun with the mode, so why should they be punished by people who dont? I dont know how long you have played the game, but you should have realised that there will always be toxic players complaining about balance issues in every mode.

And if players complaining about urf really is such an unbearable deal as you make it out to be, why not just ignore and report the toxic players like you would do elsewhere?

I find that if anything, you have a reasonable defens against critisicm in the URF mode, that it is SUPPOSED to be imbalanced and uneven, making you able to shut down any reasonable arguments that fall in that line with a single sentence.

Maybe the NA URF players are a special case, but i have experience FAR less complaining about broken champions in urf on EU WEST than i do when i play normal games, simply because there is a universal consensus that the gamemode is imbalanced and shouldent be taken too seriously.

Urf is a yearly event mode. It was never meant to stay forever.

{quoted} WE'VE WAITED A YEAR FOR THIS AND YOU GUYS ARE UNHAPPY AFTER A DAMN WEEK?!

You underestimate how obtrusive and fun-sucking some picks can be.

Though that doesn't explain why people ban Zed over Blitzcrank/Jax...

This mode should be permanent for the sole reason of training for other modes, what mode gives you a way of spamming abilities to get used to them fast and full build in 20 mins to try builds? Not even dominion.

Dont worry urf will go i will tell you why

if urf stays to long people will complain allot! because its not ballanced

wich wil result in riot having to actualy balance a bulshit mode wich honestly really can not be done...

so why keep urf...

The spam of the same champions merely because they are perceived to "win more" (they don't actually but people think they do and there are too many of them to convince otherwise) IS worth some complaint. Having the same exact champions on the enemy team every single game over and over is what makes a mode feel stale and boring. It also forces YOU into boring play patterns, since you need to apply the same exact counters over and over again to keep beating them, instead of having freedom to do what you want and try new things.

What if we kept URF around, but applied DotA2's All Hero Challenge to it? Every game you roll a random champion (full pool unlocked: do this for ARAM too please) that you have not yet won with. Your goal is to eventually win a game as every one of them. The variety would prevent a lot of the staleness, and the randomness would override many of the balance issues.
