[Do You want New Maps?] New Map Ideas:

Hello all, just bored today and wanted to suggest some ideas for maps that could be used in The League of Legends.

The idea with these maps is to not compete with Summoner's Rift. These maps are not necessarily made to attract fans of the typical style of gameplay...why? Because we already have that.

Rather, these are meant for people who may want something else. People who may not even be playing League. League has a large number of great champions, great items, and solid mechanics. And i believe that with just a little tuning, you could make effectively new games entirely using them.

Your champions may have been bought for one game, SR, but then they work well in another that you enjoy...it's almost like rather than buying champions to play in SR, you're buying champions to play any game in the Riot Games universe.

Overall, the idea is basically: Treat the maps as their own games Be warned: i am a terrible artist

Map 1: Enfos Style - PiltZaun Danger Zone

Idea's Background: Basically a place where Zaun and Piltover send their creations at a group of champions, attempting to prove their technological superiority by besting the champions faster than their own team. The goal? Basically for your team to survive a Horde mode onslaught longer than your enemy does.

Basic Mechanics: 5 players on each side, red and blue. each of the 5 players also shares a pillar which can be used for particularly powerful summoner spells. This pillar uses one mana bar and therefore the entire team needs to conserve wisely.

Minions spawn endlessly from 2 points on each side, with each wave starting soon after the last, all aiming for the portal at the bottom portion of each arena. It is not possible (or at least very improbable) to win all the stages of this mode. Rather, your goal is to survive longer than your enemy, both by beating the waves easier and by using summoner spells to assist you or sabotage your enemy.

Items are typically more expensive than on SR, but also provide more stats, due to the fact that horde mode would scale up considerably faster than SR does. In the center are two vantage points that mages/ADCs can use to attack safely from (however summoner spells can single them out easier). If wanted, these spots could also have something of value to kill/use summoner spells against.

Summoner's Spells would typically be dual purpose for defensive and offensive, such as: Speed: places a speed boost in a target area on enemy side vs minions, or slows down enemies on your side vs minions Summon: Summons minions 3 waves ahead of the current one to either help defend your base, or attack the enemy -health: a ward that does massive %health damage, usually to whittle down tanks holding off a wave -Mana Burn: Burns all of someone's mana (You can heal it easily at base, however you can't kill minions easily until you do!)

TL:DR: Competitive Horde Mode

Map 2: Free For All/2 Member Free For All - Shurima Coliseum http://i.imgur.com/LYlg7fz.jpg

Basically: Either 12 people, or 6 teams of 2 (League Beta has shown that the game can hold 12 players)

Idea's Background: Some oasis that everyone wants to take over. Similar to Dominion it's decided to simply make a coliseum around it and have all the factions fight over it

Basic Mechanics: You can only buy at the start of the game, or every time you die, you are either by yourself or with a partner/friend

There are 4 visible camps that provide sustainable healing per minion killed. Anyone however can see you and fight over these

Then there's the "safe Jungle", typically only close to 2 teams/4 players. Players go here to fight with each other over better exp/sustain. Everyone gets some exp (so you can stay afloat), however only the killer gets gold/most exp.

Then there's the "buff jungle", 6 members of each side/3 teams are near this one. On intervals a strong buff monster will spawn. Whoever kills it gets exp/gold/temporary buff

Finally, there's the fountain of life. Aside from the visible monsters none of the creatures give sustainable life, and you can't go back to base without dying. The fountain however provides a massive boost to your regeneration, allowing you to stay in the game.

The counter to this would typically be to attack them, as they would take bonus damage/lose regeneration momentarily. This area has no mobs, therefore if you're not ganking someone you're losing exp for being here.

As this is just a free for all, the overall goal would most likely be to just kill each other in a time limit :^)

TL;DR: -12 players or 6 teams of 2 -Most kills wins -Visible camps:most regen least exp/gold -Safe Camps: Riskier exp/gold but more -Buff Camps: Best Exp/Gold/Buff on intervals -Fountain of Life: Best Healing, easy ganks

Map 3: Hero Siege - Freljord Mountainside PvE http://i.imgur.com/bCqZYhQ.jpg

Idea's Background: Some creature has woken up and is trying to attack the villages. The Summoner's have summoned champions to halt them

Basic Mechanics: 4 lanes of constantly spawning units, weaker sides while the middle lanes have the most pressure

After each boss is defeated, a massive exp/gold boost is given to your team, and the waves become stronger (and give more gold). Typically you'll want to defeat at least most of the bosses to secure items for the final boss.

Ultimately, your goal is to defeat the final boss. Very simple and straightforward.

The smaller boxes are simply passageways, which may have weak camps riddled in between but also get you along to help the other lanes. Typically the weaker sides should be helping the middle out, then combining for the final boss. However depending on how each side is doing, you'll want to help all 4, as if any one of them fall, you lose.

TL;DR: A Horde mode with a beginning and end, as well as bosses

Map 4: X Hero Siege - Noxian Carnival Grounds (was also thinking Draven Carnival Grounds :p ) (PVE) http://i.imgur.com/xlMD6oc.jpg Map Idea: Basically a way for nations (Noxian especially) to show their "Noxian Might" to all, surviving a gauntlet of enemies handpicked by Noxus.

Basic Mechanics: There are stores in the center,4 towers, and either a portal (with lives) or a Nexus. There are also 2 towers on each corner of the stage.

Enemies come in waves, with stronger bosses coming at particular "levels".

This one is a straight up survival horde mode. Towers do not respawn, however you are healed after each round. Your goal is to protect the center for as long as you can.

TL;DR: 4 waves of enemies heading to center, last as long as you can!

-So...which ones do you like? -Which do you hate? -Am i god awful at explaining ideas?

You sir... are one of the great thinkers of our time! These ideas are really creative and seem like fun :D I would probably like the Noxian Carnival map the best. This got me thinking that maybe they should add a single player (or duo) campaign, similar to curse of Naxxrammus on Hearthstone. Good ideas keep up the good work +1

I like the idea of the Shurima Coliseum, sounds like fun and and a very strategic based gamemode. ^^ +1

PvE games do not excite me, and mostly feel like re-skinned versions of the same thing.

But a 2v2v2v2 team game would be cool.

A new map is definitely something for the whole community to enjoy, but often a new map would only work for one specific gamemode. If there was a map for multiple gamemodes, that would be reallly cool
