I know this sounds extremely dumb, but the new map, even with all graphics at the lowest setting possible, is too high quality for my liking. Its not that it lags me, my pc runs it fine, but its just for aesthetic purposes. The old map looked much less HQ at low graphics, but the new one just doesn't do that. Again, I know this sounds dumb, but it is kinda bugging me.

Thryale3 votesperhaps it's how the visuals clash at low settings? Like from what he said, the map's quality stays relatively the same while everything else gets tuned down so much the map now looks out of place? I dunno, just my 2 cents.

I also feel like when its get tuned down it just looks more watered down. I kind of liked the old cartoony look before because it looked good at all settings. I recently upgraded my video card and now I play on medium settings and there are so many things I didn't notice before or couldn't see just because of how champions spells would blend in with the map.
Karlyr2 votesWell in my case it's the loss of the cartoony look that is "bothering" me. Like I really like the new stuff, but I kinda enjoyed cartoony looking yordles.
RiotRiot Tiki2 votesI think that's understandable. We went with a pretty different overall style with the map and if you really dig the previous style, then this might not hit for you. Ultimately, one of the things we hoped for was maintaining the same feel. So while the map does have a different style, it still feels like Summoner's Rift. Also, we're hoping this will stand the test of time a little better. Stuff that skews more towards looking realistic tends to also look dated within a year or two due to how fast technology moves.
All that being said, if the style isn't something you really dig I can absolutely respect that, and I hope at the very least it's not making your experience playing any worse.

Vanjie1 votesI like the new Summoner Rift than the older one. People who are complaining about the new Summoner Rift need to learn how to adapt to change. This is not 2009. Everyone should be thankful Riot is updating the game. Riot almost has to do it to compete with the graphics newer games have. Move on, save up for a better computer, and learn to adapt with change. Great job Riot and keep up the good work. Would really like to see Crystal Scar get the same treatment. Heck, completely gut Dominion and update it all.
