[HOPES] @ New Summoner's Rift Update.

I felt compelled to say a few things about this more than needed update we're finally getting.

  1. I love literally everything you have done with SR from what I've seen. I do think you added a LOT of new life into League just by doing this. I almost wanted to punish myself by playing DoTA 2 because League started to look stale after YEARS and YEARS of hammering away at this game but this is just what I needed.

  2. I really hope you guys don't stop at just Summoner's Rift. The HUD, for instance... This really pales in comparison to how beautiful the map is going to be. The colors and design just looks outdated. I'm not saying you need to re-arrange anything location-wise, but if ever there was a time to look into breathing new life into your HUD, now's the time. Tweak the bordering around the skillbar, character menu, minimap, etc... to look more suitable to the new colors of SR.

  3. Secondly, the loading screen. There are so many better designs you could be using than these static vertical boxes of stuff for each player. We don't need to know which players brought which summoner spells or the names of those players or their preferred icons on the loading screen, we can see that information once we load into the game. Why not use a pie design and use the ENTIRE screen to display vibrant splash art for each champion instead? Maybe each pie slice can be dimmed down and fills up with its true colors as the person loads into the game? And instead of static borders from each Season displaying your rank you could just add a pulsating aura around each pie slice? I don't know, I just feel like there's a lot of screen real estate being lost as is.

I don't want to come off as an entitled brat, just my opinion on a couple things that kinda take away from the attraction of League to me, personally.

Whether or not either of these issues are addressed, I'll still play League because it's League and that new Summoner's Rift is just... a breath of fresh air, lol. I can't stress enough how revitalized League looks from this update to the map and everything on it.

I don't know why it's displaying a "1" in front of every point I made despite there being a "2" and "3" being used accordingly.

I am not entirely concerned about a hub VU, but I would very much appreciate (as well as many others I would assume) that during the loading screen, if players were allowed to chat with each other, as it could introduce a faster way to communicate strategy early, and predicting the enemy team composition (only level 20 at this point so I can't have as much to critique as all of you guys) but all of the normal games I play there are always those teams that were unable to cooperate and can have some really strange compositions, which could be discussed with the team as opposed to doing so in game when you should be putting strategies into action. I could also see this causing slower loading times, but I am sure riot can do something about that, but enough being a picky player, I am very excited to see the new changes for myself as the new map looks absolutely amazing. You also have some very nice suggestions, I hope that all the ones that I have seen on this forum are implemented as well.

Maybe we could have a season 1 Cinematic two-sided fight, with blue team on the left and red team on the right, with kind of a rivalry depicted between them. All the splash arts would just have to be inverted and have some sort of aggression shown. Some champions already have some form of aggression in their splash arts, like Darius Ezreal Karthus Ashe Diana Draven Garen Lucian Varus and these are just a few. Riot please.

The loading screen does display important information about the spells- it's gonna give away where everybody is going. Riot is kinda limited with what they can put on display art-wise because each champ has one splash art for each skin. It would take quite some time for riot to re-illustrate every champion and their skins. I like the ideas of course but sometimes, there are priorities. The loading screen an issue so why fix it? I agree though, I could be a lot nicer with some background art or something animated but then again, it's a loading screen and hundreds of man hours shouldn't be splurged on something that's there for only about 3-5 minutes.

Is there any possibility of getting new servers because currently my game is lagging and I wanna push the issue because it consistently occurs and I am getting sick and tired of it.

My personal thought is that this is a "one at a time" sort of thing. While I doubt the loading screen will change, splash arts are always improving and looking better n' better (I mean we're getting two next patch!).

Along with that, I think the UI is probably either on the schedule for a makeover or at least up for a polishing up. Maybe not a 100% change but enough to make it look cleaner and overall flow better with the map.

Good suggestions though! I too am a huge fan of the map and hope it comes to the public soon!

I'm super stoked for the update to come out already. Come on, guys! Let's make this game looking like it came out today! Two thumbs up on the effort, Riot.

I'm not sure where to post this because I couldn't find a place to fit it. I saw in the summoner's rift intro that the jungle monsters have to come out of their dens before you're able to actually attack them. Will this stop Lee Sin and Elise from escaping using them? Or Syndra from grabbing one in a time of need? Or delay jungle speed? Every second counts when trying to sneak a dragon.

Is the update out???

I think the best way to update SR is to openly hate Dominion. Well since Riot's accomplished that with zero remorse and gotten that pesky player base out of the way, they can now proceed to brag how people based they are, while simultaneously updating nothing actually important to SR. Good call guys.

are there any dates to when it will come out to the live servers?

Good suggestion!

I'm not sure if they'll implement these things right at the SR VU release, unfortunately.

The downside to polishing one thing at a time is that there's a glaring contrast between ugly and pretty lol. Like Sion on the new SR.

I love these ideas. I hope riot does as well!
