@Riot How close are we to having team builder in Ranked?

It needs to happen asap imo, but i havent heard anything of the sort lately and that scares me... i dont see how or why it would be difficult to add, and it would improve the QoL of every player in lol

EDIT The way i see teambuilder working in ranked is you queue up with your role IE Bot Marksman, Bot Support, Mid, Top, Jungle... then once all roles are filled you got into the normal ban phase, everyone knows what role they are, now chat will not be filled with arguing over roles but rather talking out team comps

For me personally i found the most upsetting thing is trying to figure out roles for the full champ select then not having anytime to form a proper comp.

overall this is a must :D

I agree this would help so much now everyone gets their role and no fighting in champ select. This would cause a more enjoyable ranked experience and less conflict and people saying if only i had this role. The que times would be longer but i think longer que times is worth the better, cleaner, and smoother experience IMO. Great thread needs more attention.

Never.

Riot has said before they don't want to do this because it circumvents the ban phase of Ranked (Which is an extremely important phase) and you end up just having everyone playing ONLY their best roles as opposed to performing every aspect of the game.

Not entirely agreeable for some but that's the way it is.

You could still do the ban phase, all you need is a modified team builder that lets you pick your position but no champ. You get matched with the other rolls then do the bans and pick your champs as normal. It would solve any arguments and -im not picking cos i wanted top- bs that i see so often.

There is a problem, however, and that is the aspect of randomness. While yes, everyone gets the role they want, there is no way to set up a legit team comp, which matters a lot in this game. Just some food for thought.

will never happen, even though they COULD make it work, i.e just picking lane/role and having your team set up with 3 champions to not be matched against...it would be nice, instead of deciding that your ranked skill is based on how many people RNG sticks in your group that do or do not get their role that they perform well in

yet another thread that just demonstrates why riot hasnt done this yet , they think as low level as these people posting that cant think themselves out of a wet paper bag.

this idea is not complicated and could be thought through thoroughly in a damn day of group development. but all resources for LCSbigPlays and selling rp content and junk in new store .. oh and developing forums they dont use ... and ...oh forget it this game and most of its community are so simple and wastefull with time and resources given.

just so its clear heres a quickly easy thought out in a few mins start to this development ... teambuilder - pick your preferred role no team captain no dodging the que no kicking people once matched up with the other four roles you get matched up and have a lobby to actually discuss team comp, strats etc (with a timer to force you to start the matchmaking process) you can even discuss bans in this mode/lobby and who you going to take (which WOW actually saves time in pick/ban phase and doesnt force you to rush as much to actually make a team comp) you could pre bick bans and matchup teams with diff ban sets or if theres same bans force ban phase as normal or ban the ones not the same and give the same ones up to be picked manually to avoid cross over. can also have the lobby allow you setup pick order so gasp we get the same thing as lcs pros , or to avoid first picking and easily counterable champ (because we arent given free full champ accounts like pros so swapping almost becomes pointless for us) but we also have the lobby to discuss swaps. notice how most of this allows us regular players the same luxuries the pros get GASP wow we play the game too ? would be nice to get to play it like they do ..... enter the standard pick/ban lobby and your far better off then the way it works now. anyways rant and rage and hate end. lol

i thought this up in 5 mins it doesnt cover all the bases but im not here to develop this game for them , but it shows how easy a group of devs can come up with ideas and maintain the restrictions they want in ranked.
