Hide And Seek

Hi. I've been playing a bunch of hide and seek as both hider and seeker (although mostly as seeker, since people immediately leave the lobby if they don't get to hide). And that's what I want to talk about: the commonly used Hide And Seek rules seem to strongly favor the hiders. I'm not saying that the seekers can't win: they totally can! I'm just saying that, in my experience, 70-80% of games are won by the hiders.

The first problem is itemization. Hiders can more or less spend their gold exclusively on mobility; Youmuu's, Talisman, Phantom Dancer, etc. The seekers, on the other hand, have to split their gold evenly between offense (to kill people with), mobility (to keep up with them), and defense. Defense is the part that irks me, honestly; lategame, the base values on most skills are enough to kill you in four or five hits if you're building glass cannon, so you have to spend a big chunk of your cash on protecting yourself from the hiders. What I see in a lot of my games is that the hiders don't even have to hide: they just sit outside the base and chunk down anyone who comes close. Now the issue there is probably that I've been in lobbies with total asshats, but the way that the system is configured means that the seekers are sort of screwed.

The champion pools are also somewhat skewed: anyone with mobility can be a great hider, but seekers have to combine good mobility with strong CC and damage, and that doesn't describe many champs. Your average ban phase might knock out half of the really great seekers, while you'd me lucky to take out a tenth of the fantastic hiders.

I don't have any solutions to these problems, honestly. Maybe three seekers? Maybe the seekers should get some of the hiders' bans? Does anyone else have any ideas?

3 seekers is much more balanced in my experience
