Twisted Treeline and Dominion

I've been doing something thinking recently about Twisted Treeline and Dominion, and why the majority of people dont tend to like them. For Twisted Treeline, I think players find the map itself good, but It's the fact that your mmr is completely different than your Summoners Rift one is, and they dont want to be playing with level 20's. I also thought, another reason could be that while there is team ranked for twisted treeline, there is no Solo queue. So you have no choice to go on your own, meaning you cant really play ranked on twisted treeline unless you have at least 3 people of your team online. Regarding dominion I think it's much the same idea. The concept of the game mode itself I find great, but the fact that its literally just endless normals, with people you dont even really know/who are just trying to get a quick first win (dont know how to play dominion), that frustrates the people who actually play it and want to be good at it. Similar to Twisted Treeline, there is simply no ranked whatsoever... no team queue, or solo queue... I think that this is a major reason as to why people don't play these game modes very often, and certainly why people don't want to be good at them because it won't get them anywhere, especially Dominion. I think that these two game modes would be a lot more popular if ranked was fully introduced to them as it is for Summoners Rift, with a team queue and a solo queue. A lot of the negativity towards these two maps I feel is a byproduct of that fact. "There is no motivation to play the game mode, so why play the game mode."

I would love to hear peoples feedback on this, and feel free to disagree with what I've said... or agree ;) However, if you do disagree with what I've said please keep language and attitudes appropriate for the Forums.

I said yes both. I like treeline and I'd play ranked 3s if I had friends that actually liked it too. Dominion is really fun and I'd definitely solo queue it we had it.

Dominion needs more than a ranked queue, it needs an overhaul.

TT on the other hand would benefit from a solo queue.

There'd need to be some pretty massive support, which we're not gonna get on the "bring back urf" board, for Riot to be convinced that there would be a sustainable healthy queue for these queues.

Also soloq treeline is awful atm, with like 1500 mmr you can get level 20 bot accounts. Shits horrible.

I would say from a TT perspective the current problem is bots in the game. I would very much like to see solo que ranked but before that happens Riot needs to very aggressively address the botting issue.

I think TT is liked a lot already, i never have long queue times (neather ranked nor normals). And if i check the 3v3 chat its always full with ~200 in it, whereas the 5v5 chatroom only has a 70. TT has a pretty big community around it with a lot of really good players.

Dominion isn't League. It's like a specialty map so I don't think it deserves ranked. TT is a mini version of League so it does.

I'm not sure if they're still doing it this way, but MMR used to be derived from other modes when you started to play a new mode. This was definitely the case for Dom and ARAM, and I think it was for TT as well. If you're already at a high-ish level of play in one mode, and start playing a mode you've never queued for, you get an MMR boost. Not the same as your old MMR, but definitely not low enough to be matched with level 20s.
