ARAM team comps

ARAM team comps need to be restructured. I'm tired of going against too much poke/cc champs. I mean, there was a morg, lux, heimer, rengar, and forgot the other one on an ARAM match I did, and all we had were short range melee/burst champs, and we'd die before we'd get close enough to do anything. Its not about skill, its simply too much cc and poke to whittle us down and...cc us to death.

I see match types seem to have a pattern on ARAM. Heavy poke team vs heavy tank team, etc. I dont think its made entirely clear though, its just left for the team members to figure out, but its easier and more obvious when they have a heimer who can just pump turrets out on a single kill lane. I mean its a bridge, there's no way for me to come out of a bush and burst heimer down from another angle at all. We have to go through turrets, then get stunned by lux, then by morg.

So yeah, point is, the way ARAM's team compositions are organized needs to be changed I think. Some champs also should be auto banned.

Likely due to players using ARAM smurfs with nothing but poke champions purchased. If Riot would get around to making ARAM randomly roll from the ENTIRE roster, we wouldn't have this issue.

ARAM smurfs with poke champions purchased? I must admit I'm not entirely clear on what you mean by that.

Much as I hate to say it, it really is appropriate: "Deal with it."

One of the major aspects of ARAM (and for some of us, a reason for it being fun) is the possibility of playing a completely unbalanced game. Your team could have the most ridiculously overpowered composition against a completely horrible composition, or vice versa. There's something very satisfying about managing to win against overwhelming odds because the other team has the "perfect" team against your "completely flawed" one.

People will always find a way to call ARAM unfair to them. They'll say that about any mode, really. It's just that ARAM's easy to blame because people don't directly choose their champions so they can blame the RNG instead of their own decisions and skills. I recently had a game where both teams maintained an almost even kill rate, ending with an overall tally of 47/45 in our favor. The other team only managed to take one of our turrets during the half hour game. In post game chat, their Ezreal started bitching about how he wished ARAM would stop forcing him into unwinnable composition matchups. He said that it was completely unfair that my team had Lux, Nami, and Warwick.

Do you know what's ridiculous about his complaints?

Here was his team composition:

  • Ezreal (AP, longer range ult spam than our Lux)
  • Master Yi (one of a handful of champions where scoring an ARAM pentakill is more likely to get you ridicule than congratulations)
  • Wukong (acted as their tank and initiator)
  • Fiddlesticks (one of the biggest pains in the ass in ARAM due to crow spam and cramped space)
  • Vel'Koz (multi-target long range true damage ARAM bully)

Blaming ARAM's unfair champion selection for forcing you into a loss when you have a team full of ARAM bullies is silly. It's also pretty common. I see so many "surefire win" compositions lose because they either fail to take turrets down or simply get outplayed in fights.
