Revolutionary and very complex. How do you think a game would go where nobody could chat but only use pings? Other than that, everything is as usual. I'm not 100 % sure, but I'd like to find out.
Optional 1: Let's just imagine there was a "gj" ping too, one that I'm missing in-game anyways. Optional 2: Everyone gets to write one message every 3 - 5 minutes
This could fix those players who don't listen to pings.
1)Ping spams everywhere 2) atleast there isn't a "NOOB!" ping 3) no flamers or arguments in chat
but teams would have to find new ways to communicate with pings (unless they have skype or something like that, then the game mode is pretty much normal with all muted)
I like this idea. I've always been curious if removing the chat would negatively impact inter-team communication enough to the point where it wouldn't be worth removing any possibility of flaming or arguing in chat. I mean yes, you could still "aggressively ping" someone who you want to annoy, but you wouldn't be able to tell them their mother should die of cancer because they missed a hook and took 3 cs as support.
And of course groups/teams could still communicate via skype or TS, so no big deal there.
