Coaching mode : Allow player to spectate in real time if they spectate ONE team from the start.

How to do that simply

On any mode, just allow more than 5 players by team. But the suplementary player(s) have no champion or summoner spell. They are just here to spectate on one team side. No cheating problem, since the "spectating" players are technically part of the game, with the same restriction as "playing" players. They cannot leave or play another game until this one is finished, and they share vision with only one team.

** Why it would be interresting. **

Have a strategist in the game that only focus on global strat.
Gives a way for good player to coach their newbies friends without having to smurf and ruin the game for others

A few tweak can be made :

Only for premade : you cannot join a random game as coach.
Could be only possible in team builder mode (It's probably easier to implement, since it already assign specific role to players before the game start.)
Coach MMR could be ignored during matchmaking. This would allow Good players to coach their friends without unbalancing the matchmaking.
Coach does not win IP

Pretty sure you don't understand the "cheating problem". And this does nothing to address it.

To further explain your comment here.

While yes, taking away vision of the other team from the start does solve the "we can see your every move" problem; it does not solve the addition of a 6th player that could be used as the all seeing and talking "sight ward". All you have to do is have someone as your coach tell you what to watch out for at all times. Not in the case of "oh hey you should ward there because ....", but "oh hey, that guy just walked over your ward, run away".

While yes, having a coach may seem like a good idea. Just having a "captain" or "shot caller" that's good enough to do both the job of a coach and a team leader is sufficient enough. That's why coaches with the pros can only be with the team during champ select and ban phase.

Yes, I know that. That's why it would still be a new game mode.

I'm fully ware that this "coach" would be a dedicated shot caller / leader. It is not necesseraly a bad thing. I think it would be interresting. It's just another game mode.

But I was not suggesting that one team can play with a coach and not the other. Obviously, it's a different game mode where BOTH team have an overwatch.

I mean if it was only there to be another part of the tutorial/learning part of matchmaking, then yeah I agree that this would be a great idea. I was under the assumption you were trying to suggest that normal ques have coaches implemented into them. I'm down for helping new players out.

I think this would be a cool concept in custom games only. Anywhere else and I'd be too concerned about streamers.

Well, now that you bring it up... people can do this anyway, RIGHT NOW, with streaming.

So you could say that adding in this sort of feature and making it easily available for EVERYONE, simply balances the playing field.

(because setting up streaming can be a bit of a pain)

Another concept from Dota 2. How coaching will work is if you only see what the player you are coaching sees. You are locked in on his screen. The point of it is to help him last hit, help him buy items, teach him how to play a certain champion, etc... If he isn't looking top lane then you don't see top lane. Trying anything different from this is dumb and shouldn't ever be a thing.
