My ideas for ascension
I actually like it. For once killing is winning. Anyone who's heard me rant here before knows that takedowns/ teamfights are 100% of the fun I have in this game. Farming is boring. Pushing is boring. Laning is mostly boring. Taking towers is boring. So please remove the relics. I know that kind of gets your team moving across the map, but in their place I suggest putting all the color buffs- blue, red or those other ones from twisted treeline. They will be objectives, but ones that will help you kill your enemies, and have more risks. Having a lux on the enemy team spam e and cancel you is extremely annoying. Then there's the shaco's who just make you waste game time running in circles. If you replace the relics with buffs, you allow smite to take a presence in the game, and backdooring won't solely win you the game (oh no you mean you actually have to fight now?). Honestly that's why I stopped playing dominion- cause there's always that one guy, usually Eve, and she plays the entire game just running around and you're spending your whole game chasing her instead of fighting. It's worse than boring, it's frustrating.
The Xerath as baron was a great gameplay touch. I like how the buff was specific to one teammate. I like how fighting Xerath was more related to skill in dodging his attacks than simply having enough firepower to take him down. Tagging him to hurt your enemies was fun too. No need to change anything here, but if this gametype gets remade in the future with a new map, make the "baron" like Xerath.
LET US RECALL. Ascension is incredibly biased toward health regeneration characters and reset characters (kat, kha, yi, etc.) for being able to finish off multiple people who had been poked down. If you do this, the game will be just as balanced as an actual teamfight in summoners rift. Take away the need to split your team up over relics, let us recall, and you can actually move as a team, and have a full teamcomp complete with supports and carries. Assassins wouldn't be freelo.
On the platform, move your character to the direction that you want to go. Like a teleporter; so it's obvious to your teammates where you plan to go.
With these changes together, you can strategize about who gets what buff (including ascension), and either move as a team and secure them safely and risk losing some to the other team, or split up to increase the buffs you can get at the risk of getting caught, also: smite wars and smite on carries. But either way, you're fighting, not winning by clicking on a triangle.
I just want a deathmatch game. I don't know why it seems everyone else thinks objectives are more fun.
