Opinion on new rift look?

Out of curiosity I have decided to make a poll so I have a better idea on what people think of the new look. We have all seen it and we all have our opinions some hate it and some love it. Over time with people talking in game about it most of the people I get in a match tend to hate it or love it normally half to a little under half hate it and the rest love it or don't care. Below are some reasons people have said.

Reasons people have said they love it:

  1. it looks more like dota
  2. It just looks better and needed done

Reasons people have said they hate it:

  1. it looks too cartoony and like a kids game
  2. it looks like dota
  3. none of the champions fit in at all
  4. loved having purple now it will be red

I think that if you look at the old champion models, they don't really fit well with the theme from what I see, but all the new models work really well with the new look of the map. I suspect this will continue as they keep doing visual upgrades with the champions.

Overall, I love the change, it's refreshing and more readable. I think it will make it easier for new players to see what is going on in the game. The game needs to update and change if it wants to continue being #1.

While I agree that this change makes it easier to navigate both dimensionally and visually, I think in attempting to make things more simplistic in functionality, it has also become so visually, sacrificing an initial impact that has become so akin to League Legends.

The entire map itself - more noticeably within each each lane - has become too smoothed over, and is no longer visually intriguing. I think that simply adding back some of those textures to the new structures would vastly improve the cohesiveness of the experience players have with the new map, and allow them to better accept it (i.e. rock structures and runic vegetation such as the glowing vines found on various surfaces of the previous Summoner's Rift).

That being said, I understand how texturization could be the first thing to go in the ongoing quest of improving compatibility among the spectrum of players' high or low end hardware.

I can't figure out why people think it looks like DotA. They're booth hi-def MOBAs, so sure there's some similarity, but the art styles are fairly different. And it looks LESS cartoony now.

So I love it (and made a post to that effect). It needed to be done; it's like the difference between the old cinematic trailer and Twist of Fate.

I can see why some people would be sad about the color change from purple to read, though.

I like it a lot, but... it does look too similar to DOTA, and some Champions who haven't had Re-works in a while will looks pretty damn Jarring compared to the rest of the map, also, I liked Purple more than I do Red. And, it being Cartoony? PFFT. Like I care, gives the game WAYY more personality.
