@Riot, Why Is Varus So Different From The Other Darkin?

Straight forward question. I have read that Varus's 'True Form' is "unspeakably beautiful" to the point where looking at him too long can actually hurt, or even burn your face off. But why is he so...purple? Compared to the other Darkin, who are more in line with half metal, half blood-red flesh creatures. Is it a Darkin thing?

My personal theories are that one; it has to do with Varus, as he may just be immensely powerful compared to the other Darkin, maybe even the second-in-command to his leader Aatrox. This explains why his imprisonment was a lot more elaborate and deep compared to Rhaast and Aatrox's (Both were just shoved inside their own weapons. Aatrox managed to break out first and Rhaast obviously isn't as held back). Simply being in the presence of Varus's bow was able to consume not one, but two humans, so this may be the reason why they had to trap him so far down a pit and ritually cast barriers on it.

Another theory however, is it because he was placed in Ionia? Ionia is known for being so innately magical, being the host to so many species and races of Vastayan and other magical creatures, Ionian culture is completely built around the magical properties of the land. So perhaps, Varus has grown stronger and more mystical and purple due to the radiative innate magic of Ionia.

But I don't know, just some theories. Can a Rioter comment on this a bit?

Bro. Logic and continuity are not things you ever apply to Riot.
