I think the elementalist theme shouldn't be for Lux, but for Ryze

Well, Lux is a great magician, able to learn many magics, in that regard she is quite good for this skin, but we have already known her as Light mage, the most logic step would be (at least in my opinion) a light spectrum skin, were she dominates the light, enough so she can divide it in every wavelenght of the spectrum, even the non visible ones.

I do think the elementalist skin should have been for Ryze, even if in him the skin would have less flashy particles. Lorewise he is an ancient mage, specialized in rune magic, runes has always been related with elemental magic, but it seems this experienced rune mage can't mix elements and rune magic.

I want to make clear, even when i don't like Lux, i think the skin is great, and even more on her, but i can't let that wasted potential go unnoticed.

Skins are not canon, Riot could make an Elementalist Viktor if they wanted to. Even if makes no sense.

And just because a champion use 4 spells in game, it doesnt mean that he cant make more than that... Xerath for example can use white flames in the lore, even if he has no skin or spell about "white flames".

As someone said, the skins are not canon and more play on ideas of what'if scenarios if you wanted to push it. Such as Star guardian, Dark Star, Galatic and Super Galaxy could be put together into one 'alternative what IF story' using Super Galaxy as the 'Super Sentai/Power Rangers gag', Star guardian following the tragic norm of magical girls, Galactic could fit in as the powerful 'space overlords' who rule sectors of the galaxy(which can easily be put as the non good/evil niche but can easily be against any of the good/evil if it causes trouble for them. With Dark Star being the 'evil space super power niche'.

For my two cents, the reason why Lux can work with the Elementalist theme is because they are playing on the idea of light splitting into various colors and in turn, also change the nature of her powers in the process by 'embracing' particular colors of the spectrum, which is a pretty cool way to work the angle.

Ryze if he were to ever get a ultimate skin i would think would work more akin to him pulling another one of those what'if scenarios would probably work as a 'Rune Master' skin where he ends up being forced to 'in order to rid the world of the dangerous power of the runes, he would need to harness their power to do such a thing', though in terms of the process, it would probably at best work as a legendary skin without anything impressive that could fit him on his 'personality like design'.

At the very least, all the ultimate skins still followed a good design and a great what if scenario on how they work, which could seem especially possible in lore'wise of each character.

-Ezreal could definitely augment himself with some technology such as a power suit of sorts, though i can't really say on if he just built it himself, had a friend/commissioned to have it be built or he got it as some kind of OOParts sort of technology he decided to make use of for his 'adventures' as the grand explorer.

-Udyr could definitely reach a powerful state and synergy with the primal spirits he houses in his body whether by communing with them, honing his skill and so on into a powerful martial artist sort of fighter. Which between the 3 current ultimate skins, would seem the most possible in so many ways.

-Sona's lore put her on the level of a popular musician so its safe to say she could eventually get so popular to idol like tier and become some kind of famous DJ of sorts, though i guess some elements would be exaggerated(such as technology and outfit wise) if you match it into 'lore', but its not like she gets augmented into some super powerful being like Ezzie and Uddie, just she swaps out her usual attire and instrument for a daft'punk bodysuit and magical floating DJ board, complete with speakers and so on.

Unless they really plan to pull a 180 on the effort they put on the synergy for the 5th ultimate skin after Lux's, i think they will at least keep them under the idea of that champion reaching a pinnacle of absolute greatness on what they represent in their lore.

Wasted potential? Lux has more potential to be an elementalist than Ryze will ever have.

"As Lux matured, it became clear that she was extraordinarily gifted. She could play tricks that made people believe they had seen things that did not actually exist. She could also hide in plain sight. Somehow, she was able to reverse engineer arcane magical spells after seeing them cast only once. She was hailed as a prodigy, drawing the affections of the Demacian government, military, and citizens alike."

Why not both?

Or Karma. At least she already got an Avatar vibe, why not elevate it more by turning her into an elementalist? They can do fantastic things with her particles and Mantra of Decorum (the thing that floats behind her).
