So Rengar recently had his kit 'reworked' in the assassin update, with the exception of his W, it solidified him as an assassin. But in terms of bringing out the 'hunter' in Rengar, imo, Riot, you could have done better. I think the design team realized this, and acknowledged that he may still new future work and also this is partially the why the upcoming tank update is only going to consist of 3 champions (to better bring out the champion features).

Now with the Rengar rework they changed his Q and adjusted his passive, W and R. Made his Q a skillshot (adding a level of skill to the ability) fixed his passive in terms of one standard set of rewards and added counterplay to his R. All of these changes made him a better assassin, too good if you asked the right ppl (adc 2017 lol) but they didn't expand enough on him being a hunter. (not calling out Riot, like I said they themselves recognized this issue. I'm simply explaining for the sake of the post)

This is my opinion for what could be done to help express Rengar's Tracker/ Bush hunter theme. Art assets for his passive, make it noticeable visually that Rengar is actually obtaining stacks, Rengar is already a visually compact champ so I think this is a change that would be best fitted if he ever sees a full VGU. Rengar is a hunter that has hit his peak, he has hunted every species of every animal, creature and monster in his jungle. With each kill a trophy, for each trophy a new weapon and a new style of hunt was adapted, he 'evolved' with every kill... but having hunted them all, the jungle could offer him no more, then he met Khazix . Rengar should be someone that takes every opponent as and opportunity to push himself to be better, anything for the kill. Of course ideally you would want to ask yourself then if Rengar were to kill X champ what would he take, and we can't do that. What we could do however, is have his kit show off the different trophies from his past prey, the Tusks, Claws and Fangs of past prey as the trophies the he earns in-game.

In terms of gameplay my suggestion is to shift some of his power into hidden passives, that can be unlocked by attaining trophies. e.g. he would have trophies for each ability and one extra trophy (for a total of 5 trophies). Each enemy player would be marked as rewarding a specific trophy, this would actually give the Rengar player some agency in what he wants from his kit atm/ making them actually plan out their 'hunt'. The contrast is that the current passive while respectably balanced and interactive in its own right, it's no different from business as usual, kill the enemy champion, eventually as long as you aren't too behind and the game is long enough, you should get all.

As for 'The Hunt' Rengar and Khazix special event. Instead of an extra trophy, Rengar could have the choice of want he wants to strip (not literally affecting the enemy Kha' zix ofc) Kha' zix of his claws for an upgraded empowered Q or his spikes for an upgraded empowered E. Possibly using them as machetes and kunai respectively.

This post wasn't made to shit on the rework, but rather to express opinions on how Rengar could better represent himself as the hunter he is, since I noticed ppl comment and also initially felt, like Warwick was shaping up to be a better hunter than Rengar and Kindred. What this in fact is, is that WW due to his recent VGU had a better opportunity to capitalize on his Bloodhunter theme.

You are in the wrong subforum here. This is the story&art board, you should post this on a gameplay related board instead
