We already have , so... I doubt it.

She's not really a siren, not a proper one anyway. She's just a mermaid like creature, siren's lure their victims (oftenly sailors) with the beauty of their voice that is able to control their minds (mind control). A new champion that does this would be cool but then again Sona was kind of a take on this idea because in the old lore, not sure if the same was said in the new lore but her instrument had the ability to control everyone's minds when she played music.

As much as I also want a siren, Nami plays the role of mermaid and Evelynn plays the killer that lures their prey in.

If they do create a siren they’d have to make them very different from Evelynn.

Siren = / = Mermaid

Many languages don't differentiate those 2 and have just one word to describe those two.

Sirens originate from greek mythology and were mostly portrayed as half woman,half birds with enchanting voices with which they lured sailors to their death by crashing their ships at rocks. In some myths or iterations they feast on the flesh of sailors. They're exclusively malevolent.

Meanwhile,mermaids were mostly known the Hans Christian Anderson's the ˝Little Mermaid˝ and sightings from Christopher Columbus where he mistook manatees for mermaids.Tho,their first mentions date much further.Compared to Sirens who's body proportions between human and animal differ,mermaids are most commonly known as having a fish tail instead of legs,while having the upper body of a beautiful woman. Although,their voices are said to be enchanting as well they aren't as hypnotizing like those of Sirens in every portrayal. They can be either benevolent ( either neutral,where they even take on humans as lovers) or malevolent similar to sirens. The biggest issue comes from their characteristics being mashed together,because,like I already said,not all languages have different words for 2 different creatures.

Nami would fit the traditional description of a mermaids,while in the in game lore she's classified as Marai,which are likely based mermaids and other aquatic creatures. Additionally, Nami lacks the voice component to be labeled as a siren.

RITO could make her a water spirit, part octopus/jellyfish,they could make sirens male or some kind of hideous monster etc. There's enough room to introduce a siren or siren based chmpion.

Look at his lore

Crafted long ago as a plaything for a lonely prince, the enchanted marionette Shaco now delights in murder and mayhem. He uses toys and simple tricks to deadly effect, finding the results of his bloody “games” hilarious—and for those who hear a dark chuckle in the dead of night, the Demon Jester may have marked them as his next plaything.

It flat out says that he was artificially crafted(demons are spirits,not physical beings). Him being the "demon jester" could just be a title(especially since it is an old title,that likely didn't take the new lore into account).

I'm honestly fed up with Bilgewater.

Form the "Great Retcon" and rebuilding fo the world, Bilgewater already had:

First event with Graves and TF multiple chapters story with a map bound to it.
First chapter of the GP and MF storyline.
Harrowing event centered more about Bilgewater and how cool is MF.
Another MF related comic with her getting more GP-ish.

This is already freaking enough when we are still waiting for Targon chapter 2, Shurima chapter 3, Void chapter 1 (even if it's in the list), Darkin chapter 1 (as before), Jhin/Shen/Zed chapter 2, Freljord chapter (?) and Demacia/Piltover/Zaun chapter 2 (even though their chapter 1 was big and fairly recent).

I know that Pirates are one of a big deal but focusing so freaking much on LoL Tortuga while we have things like Star beings falling from the sky, egyptian demigods fighting to rebuild an empire, two main countries at constant war, the Burning Leg- I mean the Darkins and Lost Smoke Monster on steroids + an immortal overlord commanding a massive undead army which can travel on the sea... it seems just a waste.

Well they did say that they'll focus on the dark seas around Bilgewater,which sounds to me like they'd give Nautilus a bit of the spotlight this time around and he was left out so far from the Bilgewater lore.

In general Bilgewater just had the luck to be the "flagship" of the new lore. They needed to reestablish the trust with the community after the disaster that was the frist shurima event,hence why the bilgewater event was so big in comparison and received a follow up in the same year.

I would be interested in it ofc because Nautilus always had a lot of potential. I just find a lot of bias towards Bilgewater (and the downvotes with only 1 answer show that) at the expense of more influential and more diverse lore.

Keep in mind that this year we'll get lots of smaller lore updates instead of a few big ones. The Noxus update only updated Swains lore completely and gave just 3 bio updates for other characters.

So this Bilgewater update could cover a new champ(and I'm pretty sure that this is going to be the reason why Bilgewater gets any focus at all),update the lore of Nautilus(bio+short story) and maybe Fizzs lore as well and thats about it.

I just don't like the freaking tons of lore and attention this small island of drunkards gets.

Personal opinion in obvious contrast with what the general taste as it is, I still think there are far better storylines to explore instead of Pirates of the Caribbean without Jack Sparrow.

I think it's partially to do with the fact that Riot struck gold with Burning Tides, given how great the event was. I think they're trying to keep up the lore on Bilgewater because it was so successful.

Not to mention that MF, GP, and Illaoi are really the only champs that have more lore than the average lore-updated champ. Graves and TF are mentioned in Burning Tides and we have no idea what they're doing now (Piltover?) and Nautilus... doesn't have updated lore.

And that should have taught them to get more events like that one in the works rather than catering on the success it had by centering story arcs in Bilgewater or continously giving more and more lore to it.

I'm sure that the listed Lore updates are going to be very different in magnitude and content anyway.

While I agree that the faction got a bit too much attention(or more precisely Miss Fortune got too much attention),the fact remains that the bios&color stories for its champions haven't been updated,as Nautilus is still missing(Fizz maybe too,he is not listed as a bilgewater champ on the universe page).

Meanwhile the shadow isles,Shruima and Targon have updated lores for all of their champs,so I am glad that we get Bilgewater instead of any of these 3.

If we think about it, we could speculate that the lore updates are going to come every month, starting in two weeks when new champions/VGUs come out.

1st) We're expecting a void ADC in patch 8.5, and the void lore update was the first on that list. It wouldn't have much credibility on its own, but...

2nd) Irelia's the next rework scheduled, and it should be here after the Void ADC in patch 8.7. Note that the second lore update is Ionia, where Irelia is from.

3rd) Bilgewater would be here, but we don't know much about who this could be. If the pattern continues, then we can assume that the next NEW champion after the void ADC would be from Bilgewater. Very interesting!

4th) Finally, here's the darkin, coming out with the Aatrox VGU.

Let's see what could be in the future.

5th) This one will probably be something that hasn't been touched upon yet. My money's on Bandle City (at least, that would be what I would want to see next.) Freijlord's cool as well, and luckily...

6th) I think we'll see it here, with the Nunu VGU!!!

Of course, we'll never know until it actually happens, but what do you guys think?

Also I guess that Akali would likely come with a 2nd ionia update(or maybe one centered on the ninjas). They did say that they want to revisit Noxus later this year,so its not unlikely that we'll visit Ionia twice as well.

The next champion was basically confirmed to be a void marksman, so I wonder if they'll come with a major lore bomb that will either update others or combine them all into a cohesive story. I'm also super excited to learn about the Darkin.

I really doubt that we'll ever get just one big cohesive story. Having a void invasion as one cohesive story would more or less ruin a lot of the individual stories.

Also they said that we'll get more smaller lore updates this year,so I think it is likely that the void update will be in a similar size to the noxus update(so Kai'sa will have a full bio&color story,while a few void champs get new bios/color stories)
