Where Should The Independent Champions Go?

Every champion doesn't have to belong to a faction, but they need to be connected to the rest of the World. Where in Valoran would you put the currently independent champions? What champions should be independent?

Currently the list goes as follows: Aatrox Alistar Annie Brand Fiddlesticks Gnar Janna Malphite Nami Nidalee Nocturne Ryze Shaco Zyra

What are your thoughts?

Rengar , Gnar , and Nidalee almost undoubtedly live in the Kumungu Jungle.

Alistar lives probably in the great barrier and I'd say Malphite will most likely live there too.

Annie lives in the vodoo lands already, they are their own faction, but so far annie have been ignored by the lore, they should simply emphasize on these vodoo lands. Speaking of vodoo lands, they are a faction full with dark mages,so I'd say Fiddlesticks ,Shaco &Nocturne could fit there rather well as some kind of creations of dark mages.

However Noc could also fit into the shadow isles(considering that they are his point of origin for now)

Nidalee &Zyra live in the kumungu jungle and Rengar &Gnar also live in a jungle, either the kumungu jungle or the plague jungle or even both(there'd be no problem if they lived at the border between the 2)

Nami is from the ocean, where her people live and seems to travel around the world. Similarly I'd say that Aatrox and maybe Ryze travel the world

Brand could be from the freljord considering that his backstory says that he has taken over the body of a guy from lokfar

I dunno about Janna though, she seems rather bland, she might get relocated to piltover or remain in Zaun to bring order to that place.

Where I'd have them? In the IoW of course =*

Ryze Ryze feels best with item 3069 Shurima imo, since he looks like a guy who found a big scroll from a ruin where Xerath Xerath probably studied his magic. The lore mentioned about Ryze being a creature of magic, while Xerath as an Ascendant doesn't feature any related animal, he's just a magical specter.

To a faction probably. That's how they're appearing to write their lore now. Every champion gets put in a box with a faction name on, then Riot takes one or two boxes and writes a story about these. The old Institute allowed for these independent champions to have global weight. WIthout it, they need strong ties to a faction (friendly or hostile).

The Institute didn't only inhibit certain stories, it also allowed for others.

I'd like for Janna to be a Zaunite counterpart to the Noxian Riven, in a sense. A disillusioned reformer.
