Riot August Hints that he's working on reworking a Female Champ (VGU Related Post)

So whats your thoughts about this. I'm predicting its akali or one of the sisters(Morg/Kayle) because these 3 females are in the tier 1 list of VGU's and now that irelia's out/ being work on, i'll assume one of these 3 will be next.

But my highest bet is on akali. Considering that he says that it is a she and not a they. And it'll be weird if they don't announce the sisters a duo update. Lastly, riot august and reav3 jokes about reworking an old champ into a vampire loli wielding a scythe. well, would it make sense that its akali? Yes, but not being a loli and a vampire. Because when you look at her weapons, she has these 2 mini scythes. That's just my theory. And if akali is next, i hope riot should consider making her more thicc and have her eyes become emerald. Making her the Green Eyed Ninja Demon.

Ok, since we're probably be getting 5 VGU's this year, I'm guessing these champions will get it. Swain Irelia(obviously)Pantheon Akali Mordekaiser

Actually according to the post there's 6 VGUs in the making right now. Of course one of them is just in early exploration so that could come out early next year just like Swain will soon. I'm just gonna guess that you could add Xin to that list since the designer of his mini rework will be doing a VGU, which could be him, he already stated that he had even greater visions for him.

VGUs don't take over a year to do. If they have some of them in the early exploration phase,then we can expect them to come out in the second half of 2018

It was rumored Shaco Shaco had some Early Exploration being done a while ago, but they ended up putting it in the "Icebox" for now. Wonder when they'll revisit that.

mayn champs have explorations, urgot had several ones until they found the right one.

there are no 5 in progess, just Irelia , Swain and probaly 3 new champ, maybe instead of 3 new champs just 2 and a new Vgu, but never 5 or 6, ofc there are some explorations, but no deep process.

Actually they do have 3 VGUs in progress since it was confirmed that the order of the next big releases would be Swain->New Champ->Irelia->New Champ->New VGU(with aatrox thrown into the mix at one point)

Which would mean that they have 3 VGUs in the works,otherwise we'd get 2 new champs after Irelia.

And in general GVT1 was likely counting the VGUs that are in the preproduction phase as well,since riot usually has 5 big projects in the preproduction phase alongside the 5 ones that are in production.

Yes,but you said that they have likely the 2 VGUs and 3 champs in the works,when they actually have 3 VGUs and 2 champs in the works as well as 3 VGUs in preproduction.

I just explained what GVT1 most likely meant when he said that there are 6 VGUs in the process.

Voli has good chances too, they named him in the Ornn lore and it seems like they already take some thoughts on options for a VGU and he is on the Tier 1 list too.

I hope its more of:

Swain Irelia Nunu Mordekaiser Pantheon Akali

I think Nunu needs more love than Akali and Pantheon. They both need change, but at least they see play. Volibear could also be shoved in here before them, but he is a weird case to where he CAN be meta and isn't bad to play against during those times, unlike Pantheon and Akali.

Holy shit. You and I, Killaburn- We've got the same mind: I've had the exact same arguments for why August is very possibly working on Akali since Reav3 announced him working on a VGU! SHE'S A VAMPIRE GIRL WITH SCYTHES. SORT OF.

I have a strong feeling that August is the perfect fit for the Akali VGU, as she's got things about her (both in theme and gameplay) that really remind me of his past champs- Especially Ekko- in their playstyles and playpatterns and so.

I'm really looking forward to this one!

And like you said, if not Akali, then possibly Morgana, with Wrekz potentially working on Kayle(?).

I also have a strong hunch that CertainlyT's (Zoe's) team is working on Pantheon:

  • A champ from Targon, with which they have very fresh experience (Zoe)

  • A Diver, as is Warwick, whose VGU CertainlyT also designed

  • They've had a strong visual and thematic direction for him already in 2016, with the first Targon narrative update:

#"[...] A warrior mantled in starlight and bearing a gleaming, golden shield and spear of legend. [...] eyes blazing with celestial light [...] The outsiders’ blood ran from Pantheon’s armor and weapon, leaving them pristine and gleaming with starlight."

Jinx was my favorite champion (got to the point where I exclusively played her, or dodged) from her release until I quit the game towards the middle of Season 4 (sometime after Braum released, but before Karthus VU). Vi has always been one of my favored fighters, her kit just works so well with me.

Color me hyped as fuck for whatever August comes up with for this mystery VGU.

He could be working on one of the two angel sisters but not the other. Two teams for two sisters.

Likely is Irelia since she could fit in one of his x hits procs he loves so much.

And yes give akali back her green eyes. Sona needs her yellow eyes back too while we are at it.

They did say that two teams would be working on them, so you know it could it be one or the other that someone talks about.

I think it could be both on the one hand irelia or a new one, Reav3 noticed that there will be this year a 3rd VGU that did a champ last time(probaly Zoe's team). I think we have to wait until the next Roadmap that shoul be launched someday in Feb. after Swain hits the live-servers.

Probably Irelia, right? No other females have been announced. I don't think he's on Live gameplay, so it wouldn't be a low scope update, and it certainly couldn't be Kayle or Morgan's as they will be updated together.
