Who wants the KUMUNGU JUNGLES to be faction now?

like the title and yes i need this so badly!

I also want a precious icon crest by the kumungu jungles

A champ from the kumungu jungle that will be the herald of it

And i want to explore it. plus, we need new lores for nida and zyra.

Maybe this is the jungle where rengar and kha'zix fight and make rengar's faction to be the kumungu jungle

And lastly, i hope gnar traveled here and make his faction kumungu jungle and the kumungu affair?.

My theory on the kumungu jungle:

The exotic land, the kumungu jungles wants its independence from the shuriman nation. They want independence and to be recognize as a faction. So one brave warrior, told all the leaders of the 12 sub territories to form an alliance to counter the said shuriman empire. (The tribes have some references to the western horoscope signs) because there are no stories yet in LOL that wants to have it own independence or freedom from another country. Imagine if texas wants to stay away from the USA and wants its independence. Maybe this is the kumungu affair in iverns quote

But there are other territories too in the kumungu Jungle that no man has yet to explored and has vastayan people not yet have seen by some people( so yay! more vastaya ) and has not yet included in the tree of vastaya tribes.

The 12 sub territories of the kumungu jungles are:

  1. Kaikasan - has 2 tribes: consist of vastaya people who has rat attributes and has a face of a penguin and the other tribe are shaman people who looks like native americans. ( has Capricorn personalities and has a similar Capricorn sign symbol as their flag )

  2. Cocomartino - has a vastaya tribe. which consist of bee like people who was has a monarch system and only 1 woman can rule the tribe like a queen bee. ( has Aquarius personalities and has a similar Aquarius sign symbol as their flag ) http://imgur.com/a/0VLSu

  3. Zaimasu - has a Kayapo like tribe that likes to have world piece. ( has Pisces personalities and has a similar Pisces sign symbol as their flag )

  6. Sensen - has 2 tribes that dislike each other. 1 tribe has dog like vastayan attributes and the other has cat like vastayan attributes. both are shapeshifter vastayans and one is nida. ( has Gemini personalities and has a similar Gemini sign symbol as their flag )

Coriander - the old tribe/empire of the ruined king before he came to the shadow isles and years after he left, the tribe is now in ruins cause some void lings take over it after. this territory is also close to icathia and also the most civilized out of all the territories in the kumungu jungle. ( has Sagittarius personalities and has a similar Sagittarius sign symbol as their flag ) **cough hecarim cough **

And lastly, the brave warrior that talks to the leaders is no other than, the legendary hunter himself in rengar's story and his motif onto why he abandon rengar is because rengar is meddling on his plans and makes rengar bother him. his purpose is currently unknown though...

the thing with the Kumungu is that no one in the Kumungu is fighting for the kumungu, it's not a nation or anything it's just a place. Every champion affiliated with the Kumungu has a different story going on that is honestly unrelated to the jungle except for Nidalee, who's lore is pointing more towards Vastaya anyway.

If he wants his theory discussed in earnest he should go to concepts and creations. Theories are nice when they're tied to lore and such but this is basically fan fiction. We have no indication at all in the lore that all these groups exist besides the knowledge that the kumungu probably has vastaya.

And we may not know what the kumungu is exactly, but we do know the characters associated with it have almost nothing in common idealogically between any of them.

I am aware of this, however; he said "Vampire like creature" He did not just say "Vampire" and he (Vlad) already fills the visual trope of every vampire minus the fangs, as well as having blood-themed abilities, which the only reason you'd want a vampire like champion is either the feeling you get playing them, personality, their abilities (oh but "disregard" that), or the visual aspect. Vlad has all of them, minus the horde of people claiming "akshually" he's a Hemomancer focusing on that one detail, he's pretty much the "vampire guy" people ask for, and he fits everything you could want, he's even got puns about the blood type he prefers ffs.

*not gonna lie though I do like the visual description of the Bat-like creatures with scorpion tails.

For Kumungu to be a faction in the traditional sense, a hidden kingdom or empire would have to be revealed. According to lore, what is known of Kumungu is that the place is far too inhospitable to support a large civilizations, barring lore establishing a safe area in its middle or underground, up a mountain, etc... I get you dig the jungle setting, but the more creatures capable of thriving and leaving the jungle at the same time lessens the danger and thrill of its tales

Would you consider the void a 'civilization' then And has it lost its danger and thrill by the amount of creatures that have thrived and left it!

Any area can be made into a solid faction so long as you have a host of champions capable of living there and they fit the theme Kumungu would be a place of wild and untamed nature who inhabitants have the deadliest and most cunning if they wish to survive the harsh kumungu jungle And if not have to be so intuned with nature that they can simply walk through some off the jungles hazards likeIvern

The Void is a dimension of horrors, the Void itself is almost alive on its own. The void creatures all have a single directive to expand the void and devour all other things.

The Kumungu lacks that cohesion. It's just a jungle. A fercocious jungle, but not one that lends to massive civilizations or powerful ones

Actually from all lore given, The Void lacks civilizations. It is also not a faction. There are a total of 7 champions who are credited as from the Void, two of those are mortal men corrupted by it. Of the rest, they are a smattering of odd creatures with no connection to each other. The fact that Kha and Reksai were revised as confirmed Void beings does dilute the lore and fearsome oddness a bit, while Velkoz only added to it.

A faction would be nations or cities with individuals who share common worldviews, goals, likes and dislikes. Naturally some may originate from a faction and not be apart of it, such as Jhin or Riven. Simply making broad smattering of more champs emerging from Kumungu does not make it a faction.

Riot certainly could add more champs and list Kumungu as a location rather than simply "Runeterra" and seems far more likely than a full fledged faction.

Void story has been getting more detail here and there. Void has a description on Universe, and Aurelion Sol and Diana's stories explain more about what the void and void creatures are like.

I would love more lore on void as well, of course, but we have some story on void for now.

And I just wanted to say I don't really like the idea of Zyra being part of a plant-human tribe, she's technically a predator, a carnivorous plant who hosted a sorceress body after she ate her... So, one of the thing I love about Zyra is her, being independent and has no affiliations, just an Evil neutral plant lady who likes to feed on her prays.

Zyra was not part of a tribe, she is an antique plant who ruled the Jungle for thousand of years, but I love the idea of this ! She needs a new VO and a lore update with Nidalee at least, WE NEED THIS TO HAPPEN, KUMUNGU JUNGLES RIOT

Zyra in her lore, was just a giant carnivorous plant, I don't think their is a plant-human like tribe, and I HATE this Idea, she need to be the only survivor of her kind, she is a plant who hosts a human body, she is independent and don't need to have any affiliations, this is what Zyra is today, an evil neutral plant lady who need no one, and have so much more to see !

I second Zatsukino's opinions, as someone who mains Zyra for three years (since I started to play LoL) for who she is and not for her playstyle (which I grew up to love), that is the whole deep plot of her story. The fact she needed to trade her quickly selfhealing body for a fragile one that can move and leave her part of the Jungles so she can survive and magically discovered sight when doing it, setting her for a new goal. I'd actually want her to go and discover another faction and meet it's people - and mostly to have so much more to see!

I'm all for having this faction made into a thing and leading to more new champions. It would be really fun to see more story and character design spring from this 'untapped well' so to speak. Riot could do a lot with it!

But I'm heavily opposed to trying to cram each faction into an astrology category. It just turns into creating races for the sole sake of filling out the chart, not to mention how one dimensional their personalities would be if everyone from one faction had to act the exact same way because they were all part of the same 'zodiac' group.

I like the Vampire like creature and the Wasp queen, it would be so nice to implement !

I also, was always wondering why is this place only mentioned in Zyra and Nida's lore, and some Ivern's quotes, but they never really spoke in depth about what are those jungles.

The lore says there is dangerous and deadly creatures in there, and it's not a faction just a jungle, a place with different creatures and monsters with maybe different tribes, it would be so cool to have more vastayas coming from here and I LOVE the Wasp queen idea, I just want her to be a champion.

And I can imagine an ancient civilization or tribe here, antique cults, odd creatures, centipedes, monsters and tribes fighting each other, and Nida will be part of this indigenous tribes... So much potential !

yeah i agree. it has so much potential and can be a faction to if riot wants to. Specially a small island(shadow isles) can be one then its more likely a jungle territory too (imagine a big amazon forest).

And i support the wasp/bee champ too. I like her controlling bees lmao and the witchcraft potential and a voodoo puppettr ... so much potential

I would love to see some Down Under rep in League's universe as much as the next OCE player but the issue is that neither cultures tolerate having their traditions or beliefs being mistreated. Although being honest, their cultural values are a subject mostly abused or overlooked anyway, more so for the Aboriginals sadly.

If I was pitching this fan concept I wouldn't approach it with the witchcraft angle, both culture's traditional beliefs loosely come under the large umbrella of Animism, which would be a more respectable and broad approach than specifically witchcraft and voodoo.

Not to say that witchcraft has derogatory connotations, since both cultures did embrace forms of it in their early beliefs (in Maori culture it has been phased out). So I doubt it would be deemed too offense, but it feels like something you shouldn't even poke with a ten metre stick so to speak.

Quite like this idea of adding a new faction, it's different, and the concepts are already there to build on.

Preferably I'd like the Voidborn and Vastaya to become fully fledged, don't like things being left half done, before adding new factions though. Would rather the Voidborn become a faction, rather than an existential beyond reality threat that prods at Runeterra and spews out the occasional strong one. Long overdue an event and hierarchy.

This seems like too much for a fiction so small as Kumungu. Some of the races/clans/tribes mentioned could be used for Ionia,the Glade,the Voodoo lands or another location.

It's small in social structure and events compared to others. There's time to build it up,but it will never reach to level of interaction compared to other factions.

Besides that there are a number of problems with the proposed. a) The sub regions seem too much. Large factions have fewer of them,while also being more inhabited. b) To form so many sub-regions and champions RITO would need to release only Kumungu champions for about 3-4 years. Which would end up neglect other factions. c) Making so many sub-places make it seems like it's own continent. d) The number of territories seems heavily forced to match the number of signs in horoscope.

SUB-TRIBES IMO*

  1. KAIKASAN Humanoid rats with penguin faces? Like why? Penguins usually inhibit cold places,why would be in a jungle? A penguin is better left for Freljord. Who wouldn't love to play a full fledged penguin? On the other hand a shaman would be better placed in the Voo-doo lands(who have even fewer inhabitants than even Kumungu )

  2. Cocomartino and other bug creatures could very well be placed here. The Bee-Vastayan theory is pretty neat. Wasp,Bumblebees,Ants or Monarchs.

  3. Zaimasu ; it's a good concept,but what makes them special? Some magic they use? Weaponry ?

  4. Flo'ra ; Why did Zyra's kind extinct? Why would 2 tribes live there? Zyra in current lore survived because her kind spreaded wildly through the jungle and exhausted most sources of food.If there's another tribe there,couldn't she just have eaten them?

  5. Rhijinoa ; Isn't Alistar like one of last of his kind?

  6. Sensen ; We already have Nasus for a dog,WW for wolf, Nida&Rengar for cats.Why introduce another race to it? There's still room for a Shuriman ascendent based of Basted.

  7. Orcarina ; Unique race,but could either be placed in places that are either really gloomy like the Voodoo lands or the Glade which for now is home to fae and might have other creatures of it ( Sprites,Fairies,Elves,Ogre,Gremlins, TrollS,Kobolds etc.)

An unforgiving barren wilderness, the Voodoo Lands were colonized by political and social outcasts from Noxus, known as the Gray Order, who sought to leave their neighbors in peace as they pursued dark arcane knowledge. The leaders of this outcast society are a married couple: Gregori Hastur, the Gray Warlock, and his wife Amoline, the Shadow Witch. Though survival was a challenge at times, the Gray Order's colony managed to thrive in a land where so many others would have failed.

  1. Torio Cali ; the Glade . ..

  2. Sentikalo ; A buddhist tribe? That's literally the definition to Ionia's politics and values. What would be the point of introducing them?

  3. Adtra-ih ; now this is really interesting. A night creature for the fiction would be really good. There're already mythologies ,folkore and urban myths about such creature. Tho the scorpion tale should be considerate ,as it could be later used for a Manticore.

  4. Coriander ; That was kingdom.It wasn't a small tribe or anything a like. Icathia itself could be the Ruined King's kingdom.

Having this much content on such a social structured place,highly limits RITO's abilitiy to come up with content for other places.

We don't know if its big/small atm so we don't know yet. maybe it just a mini jungle or a jungle like a bigger amazon forest. No, I didn't mean riot should release a champ for each territory maybe 2-3 champs from kumungu is Ok and a nice story/insight for the other territories is nice too. c. I disagree, Cause look, its a jungle so many species evolve differently and who wouldn't want champs that have diff species in a one faction except for continents like ionia which makes riot slower to process all the stories because the champions they cover there in a continent is diverse and massive and i don't like kumungu to be like that. d. Sorry to burst your bubble but Voodoo Lands will not comeback to LOL ever cause of real life accusations and they don't like to reference real life places/religions to LOL. So to insert tribes, i put them in the jungle. As for the penguin looking rat. vastaya needs to be unique and i agree that real world penguins needs to belong to freljord but the one i propose has the looks only.

That's zyra's old lore but idk if they'll change it and i combined it here. Look at my map. their territory is massive so maybe there is a gap between the tribes.
