The Essence of War

Hey guys this is my second post with my suggestions for a Pantheon VGU in which Riot goes the route of separating Atreus and Pantheon. Last thread I explored the idea of Pylas becoming Pantheon's host. In this one I want to explore what a Pantheon VGU where the host doesn't matter could imply.

What I really love about Targon, is that although it is themed around celestial beings dwelling among the stars, instead of the "alien" and "otherworldly" approach it takes a more "mythical" approach, that of the gods of greek myth.

Pantheon, likewise is a collection of Warrior Aspects, scattered throughout the cosmos connected by the "Essence of War". I would love to see Riot expand on this theme, even in the current lore and especially if Pantheon and Atreus are separated. We also know from Rioter hints, different cultures, interact differently with the Ascension ritual, the Targonians resemble Greco-Roman gods, the Shurimans Egytian gods and with Kayle and Morgana we will likely see Demacians interacting with the ritual ascending into angels.

Now in a combination of these 2 things, we have 'a collection of Aspects based on the war gods of various cultures and mythologies'. Hence the name Pantheon, all the gods (war gods specifically in this case). There is an endless list of war deities that this concept can draw inspiration from, and often gods are associated with multiple things for example a Fire and Weather deity that is also associated with Mountains and War, in real culture. Even with Volibear being the Freljord's war god, there could still be room for an Aspect based on Tyr a Norse one arm god of war. This includes the current Greco-roman god of war theme as well.

I see this working in-game either in a similar fashion to Kayn's transformation or the transformations are Pantheon's ult and you the player can swap between Aspects of War, because the host doesn't matter, they're all Pantheon. Atreus who would remain a regular spartan probably would keep Panth's current ult if the latter were the case.

Of course I want to hear your thoughts, I tried my best to think outside of where I expect the VGU will actually go for the sake of open-mindedness.

That gives me an idea as well. If the host really doesn't matter and Pantheon (The Aspect) just takes a bunch of hosts at one time because he prefers to use his hosts more as a bludgeon instead of like a scalpel, when it comes to problem solving, than what does that mean for gameplay as well as story?

To be fair, the concept doesn't even have to extend to other mythologies, there are numerous Greek heroes and demi-gods to draw inspiration from, allowing Pantheon to remain mainly Greco-Roman inspired, if that becomes a concern.
