Does Jayce have autism or he is just anti social?

I was wondering why is the cause of Jayce’s social problems? Is it because of his attitude or something else?

Hi, as someone who has been diagnosed with AS and has done extensive research on the topic, I want to talk about this. First of all, it’s autism spectrum and there is different levels of “extremes”. If Jayce is autistic he would definitely be high functioning like me. But I don’t think Jayce is any where on the spectrum because of a few reasons.

  • In his short story quick-fix, the reason why he wanted the girl out of his lab was because it was dangerous and he suspected a Viktor attack which turned out to be true. He didn’t want her out because he was so engrossed in his work or he didn’t want to talk to her.

  • There is a small banter he does with the girl which requires you to understand social ques. What happens is Jayce calls her stupid for breaking her toy then the girl calls Jayce stupid for something else and Jayce laughs and takes it as a joke. A person on the spectrum would take that literally and not understand why she said it.

  • Actually the reason why Jayce is impatient with other people is because he is a genius and he can’t stand people that slow him down. He also doesn’t understand how people can’t solve the easiest scientific problems. He is impatient and arrogant but this is not a sign of being on the spectrum. Because it’s not the problem in itself that he finds astonishingly logical but the brains of other people annoy him. Remember that it said Viktor didn’t mind his rudeness and not his lack of social understanding or common sense. Although people on the spectrum can seem unintentionally rude, Jayce seems to understand when he is being rude and that people find him rude but he doesn’t care about the typical ideas of heroism. He said to the girl in his short story that people find facets of his personality rude.

  • Also, he seems to completely understand emotion which is his whole argument against Viktor. He believes in free will and happiness and sadness existing. A person on the spectrum has a hard time understanding emotion. This is not to say we don’t feel emotion but we have a hard time taking it as an abstract idea like Jayce would.

In conclusion, I believe he isn’t on the spectrum.

Why the fuck does people kept associating with the word "autism" as if it's the answer to everything?

Autism is an inability to read social queues and is considered a disability. Jayce is just misanthropic

Can't people be arrogant without being autistic nowadays?
