Pylas the Aspect of War
Hey guys, Wrath here with a another Pantheon VGU suggestion.
While it is not my preferred route with the Pantheon VGU, I know quite a few players would like to see Atreus and Pantheon separated in future lore. As a main, I think it's important to look at the VGU's potential from multiple Aspects. I have 2 suggestions, one of which I'll address in this post.
I'll address the route, where the end of Atreus' story arc in Pantheon's lore, is retconned so that he does not allow himself to be controlled by the Aspect. However, Pantheon's host is still someone we're familiar with...
Pylas EDIT: This suggestion of Pylas replacing Atreus as Pantheon's host doesn't rely on a retcon btw, Pylas' body is preserved on Mt. Targon's peak in the canon lore. Pantheon can simply take control of that body if Atreus ever overcomes his control. A retcon is only suggested to allow further development into Pylas' character.
What if Pylas is used to replace Atreus as Pantheon's host. Essentially at Mt. Targon's peak, instead of waiting for Pylas' death, Pantheon reveals their self to the 2 warriors of the Rakkor and forces Atreus and Pylas to battle to the death for the honor of becoming an Aspect. They are the Aspect of War after all, if 2 candidates have made it to the top, the one that had greater battle prowess should be more worthy. Pylas still on the verge of death mind you.
Atreus wins, however refuses to kill Pylas and suggests that they leave the Aspect's Faustian bargain. Pylas on his death bed however, claims Atreus basically fore-fitted the match and therefore, he deserved the right to ascend, fully aware of the price. He does this because even though they have become best friends, and see each other as brothers, Pylas was always jealous of Atreus in their youth, he basically despised Atreus' dedication.
I compare this to the relationship between Vegeta and Goku. Where they have put their days as enemies behind them and where Goku may consider Vegeta his friend. Vegeta considers himself Goku's rival and prided himself in that, however, Goku was almost always just out of reach. And just like Vegeta Pylas is a warrior of noble lineage finding himself overshadowed by the efforts of a low class warrior. Essentially Majin Vegeta:
Let me know what you guys think, and look out for another post where I dive into a suggestion for the Aspect of War.
