let me first post quote a portion of Nautilus' lore.

>Only moments after he donned the hulking diver's suit and climbed over the ship's rail, something lurking in the muck grabbed hold of him. He clung to the side of the ship, but the thing below pulled him fiercely, rocking the entire ship. The other sailors grew afraid and made a terrible decision. As he stared and pled for help, they wrenched his grip free of the rail. He tumbled into the ink, grabbing the anchor in futile desperation. Dark tendrils enveloped him and he could do nothing but watch as the dimming outline of his ship faded away. Then everything went black.

and i can't help but think it's related to illaoi.

any updates on that matter?

also, is there any Quotes specifically directed to nautilus by illaoi?

There's no proof, but I want to see his lore updated.

They referenced tendrils a lot when talking about the black mist in shadows of fortune, so I wouldn't be surprised if they fleshed out his story to make him a victim of the Harrowing

Her tendrils aren't very dark. They're quite luminescent.

Though I do wonder if there is a connection. Illaoi might respect Nautilus actually.

What puzzles me most is, why not bring said god to Rift? Wouldn't it be better than having a God Bender?

Also, the tagline in the client seems to be the pitch-line used for the champion.

Chances are that the Bearded Lady is in fact connected to Nautilus's transformation. She's also probably connected to the disappearance of Fizz's people (So I guess a bunch of people on the boards are going to start joining the cult of Nagakabouros) and the darkness in the 'Great Deep' that Nami's people need a Moon Pearl to keep at bay.

It's rather amazing how just releasing Illaoi has solidified Nautilus, Nami, and Fizz as being connected to a Cthulhu based plot. Unnameable horrors in the ocean, large abandoned cities, mysterious disappearances, and horrible transformations due to dark forces are all common themes in Lovecraft's works. Admittedly it seems that Illaoi's cult doesn't seem nearly as horrible and dark as any Cthulhu cult but this is League, so having full hardcore Lovecraft in it would be a bit much I think.

I'm thinking Nagakabouros tried to take over Nautilus but instead of taking over completely Nautilus got creative control of all that power. That pretty much makes Nautilus a demi-God if you ask me. Nautilus in the cinematic looked kind of godlike if you folks saw that, he was one-shotting champions left and right with a single anchor.
