@Riot is illaoi's god anyway related to nautilus?

let me first post quote a portion of Nautilus' lore.

and i can't help but think it's related to illaoi.

There's no proof, but I want to see his lore updated.

i too wanna see his lore updated, but honestly, with the recent lore "updates" or if that's what you wanna call it, i'm pretty sure they will change it dramatically, and just won't give it that Dark and angry atmosphere.

what i would like to see, is the same lore, but without the added LoL game part, like summoners and the institute of war.

that and a legitment quotes towards certain champions, while also revealing something about his story.

there are alot of AMAZING stories in LoL's champions, but they're all shrouded with mystery, and Riot have left them that way for a pretty long time.

what i'm trying to say is, i'm worried.

I'm worried the Morgana vs Kayle conflict will be changed from morally gray on both sides, Kayle being the justice above all, even in a system that doesn't allow freedom, and morgana being a freedom fighter, willing to hurt her self, and use dark magic to bring freedom to her people. If they do more work on this, i hope they make them both sorrowful for the other, kayle lamenting over her "fallen" sister, morgana sad but determined that she has to fight her sister, wishing things were different. Because their lore makes them both being summoned from another world, just like old nasus, old reneketon, taric, and malphite lore. This caused nasus and reneketon to change. Renekton's old lore was a bit more like he was driven mad from the evil he had to guard's prison leeching into his mind.

Kayle and Morgana . The lore between these two are what worries me so much in the retcon. I truly hope Riot keeps it grey and makes them likable. Sure enough Morgana has a large playerbase, but I keep seeing Kayle demonized all too often.

Kayle doesn't deserve to be demonized, nor does Morgana. Morgana wanted more freedom, but Kayle wanted justice. Personally, I side with justice in most cases, but I value freedom just as much. Freedom to carry out justice and for others to do the same.

They referenced tendrils a lot when talking about the black mist in shadows of fortune, so I wouldn't be surprised if they fleshed out his story to make him a victim of the Harrowing

Except if he was a victim of the Harrowing then he would have been fighting alongside the Black Mist, not against it. Further, none of Nautilus's abilities have any of the usual thematics of a Shadow Isles champ, no ghosts, no pale green mist or anything.

Maybe he's somehow slightly related to Varus? He was covered in dark tendrils and stuff, although he still knows who he was.

Her tendrils aren't very dark. They're quite luminescent.

Though I do wonder if there is a connection. Illaoi might respect Nautilus actually.

yea, but remember, the "Dark" energy on nautilus when he uses his shield is really close to the theme color of illaoi, but wait, there's more.

notice how when she draws the spirit of any champion with her E (i think..?) the spirit color changes into the same exact color of her tendrils, so, what i believe is, that's not the real color of her tendrils, but they're actually spirit of the real thing.

the tendrils could be any color, red, blue, green, or even Black, however, they're Faded and look alot like a spirit.

and so, if we imply it's color is black (and we could since it hasn't yet be confirmed otherwise) they could the very same thing that dragged nautilus down.

What puzzles me most is, why not bring said god to Rift? Wouldn't it be better than having a God Bender?

Also, the tagline in the client seems to be the pitch-line used for the champion.

I feel like bringing him onto the rift would kinda take away some of the awe and power of being a god. How is Illaoi supposed to worship this guy after she sees him getting beat to death by a midget wielding a lollipop a couple dozen times? Poppy

For real though a lot of the champions are mighty heroes, sorcerers, demons, angels, cursed souls, and now we are getting what essentially is a warpriest. That is a pretty badass lineup but none of these champions really measure up to Godly levels of power in their lore, which would make them going toe to toe with one seems a little odd.

If Illaoi loses on the rift then its because she didn't channel her god correctly. If her god itself loses then thats kind of a shitty god.

Chances are that the Bearded Lady is in fact connected to Nautilus's transformation. She's also probably connected to the disappearance of Fizz's people (So I guess a bunch of people on the boards are going to start joining the cult of Nagakabouros) and the darkness in the 'Great Deep' that Nami's people need a Moon Pearl to keep at bay.

It's rather amazing how just releasing Illaoi has solidified Nautilus, Nami, and Fizz as being connected to a Cthulhu based plot. Unnameable horrors in the ocean, large abandoned cities, mysterious disappearances, and horrible transformations due to dark forces are all common themes in Lovecraft's works. Admittedly it seems that Illaoi's cult doesn't seem nearly as horrible and dark as any Cthulhu cult but this is League, so having full hardcore Lovecraft in it would be a bit much I think.

One of Nautilus' original concepts involved luminescent tentacles spilling from his armor. Perhaps he was chosen as her avatar, and the "calling" he hears is her will. He did hold back the Harrowing one year despite having no reason for doing so, which is exactly what Nagakabouros did in Shadow and Fortune.

God damn it man! I'm already excited for Illaoi and Poppy! Now I'm excited for how they'll connect with other champions!

And random thought: TahmKench . What if he is the "devil" of Nagakabouros? He gives people quick shortcuts and then takes them back as payment. Nagakabouros (From what Illaoi's quotes say) seems to preach persistence and determination in your goals.

We know that the Harrowing is homicidal and will attack anything, and we know Nautilus is one of the most angry and bitter champion in the game. So it is not out of the question for them to ATTACK him, which cause him go from a neutral third party to an active fighter, smashing the legion of the Shadow Isle because they fucked with him

True that may be, but it does reinforce him as independent of the Harrowing and the Shadow Isles; we have never seen a member of the Shadow Isles act against or outside the Harrowing, so it stands to reason Nautilus has no direct relation to it.

Essentially, this rules out the possibility the Harrowing is responsible for Nautilus' transformation.

I'm thinking Nagakabouros tried to take over Nautilus but instead of taking over completely Nautilus got creative control of all that power. That pretty much makes Nautilus a demi-God if you ask me. Nautilus in the cinematic looked kind of godlike if you folks saw that, he was one-shotting champions left and right with a single anchor.
