Basically, his old lore was about a necromancer who cursed the entire troll race with some necro-rot curse of some sort. then trundle was born and had the strongest healing factor of all the trolls, and so they had the bright idea of placing everyone's curse on him. End result, it was Deadpool, and Jesus, all rolled into one. Meanwhile, all we have now is a smart-ass with a big club, and a Napoleon complex.

While I actually new Trundle more in terms of character and also like his new lore,I do think his old lore had some interesting points that aren't really present in his new lore anymore.
It gave a unique twist on the whole martyrdom,in that trundle mainly became one because he wanted to be appreciated,because he wanted to be a hero,but his people proved to be ungrateful and started to isolate him instead,causing trundle to become bitter(I mean he actually kept the curse on purpose just to kill his tribe)
