I read through the entire story that Riot put out and LOVED IT. SO WHY DOES A CHAMPION LIKE PYKE GET SUCH A SHALLOW STORY COMPARED TO THIS? Also where is zilean to defeat velkoz with the iceborn people?

Zilean's lore is still up in the air, but given his apparent connection to Icathia, I think it's likely he'll encounter Vel'Koz eventually.
