I LOVE Dragon Sorceress Zyra, BUT...

Hi, I'm VERY dedicated Zyra main practically since I started playing (the end of season 4). Since then, I was waiting for a new skin for my love. I was so hyped up when I saw the teaser. Now that we can see the preview, I must say, I love the spell effects and model, except ONE thing:

Does she really need to have those wings on her ass?

Like... It looks like she was from some kind of a bad anime solely because of that! I don't know who came up with this anatomic bullshit, but it is absolutely contrary to anything esthetic. PLEASE, consider putting them on her back/shoulders normally, even if it takes one more patch, I'll gladly wait, I managed to wait for two and half a year!

Hi! I wanted to drop in with a bit of context here - you're right in that they're not anatomically correct, and that was done purposefully. In the case of Dragon Sorceress Zyra, we took a bit of creative freedom, and made something that was a bit more outside the box in terms of design, and in return, sacrificed practicality.

While I do see what you mean regarding Demon Vi, they both utilize wings, so there will be some overlap. We added a recall winddown for Dragon Sorceress Zyra, which, in my opinion, really divides the two.

Given that I'm an idiot, could you explain what a recall winddown is?

Also, just looking at them, both features them sprouting wings, slamming a fist into the ground, then flying up into the air.

Nah, you aren't an idiot. It's basically what plays right after the recall, once the champion is back in the spawn pool. So, instead of returning to an idle stance, she flies down and lands in the spawn pool.

Ah, okey doke. Didn't know that, thank you for clearing that up.

But the main part of the recall is, in terms of movement and wings and stuff, rather similar. I know it's not my place, but I feel like some more could have been done to make it stand out.

Yeah, of course. It's a weird term, and something that people just think is a part of the recall most of the time, haha.

Unfortunately, we aren't going to make adjustments to the recall. Something like this can take up to two weeks to create and adjust, and that doesn't include testing. ;_; I do appreciate the candid feedback, and I 100% believe that this is something we should keep in mind for future skin recalls.

But yeah, I'm sure that in the future the recalls will be even more diverse than now. Keep up the good work, whoever does the animations!

I love the wings and I'm glad you guys are thinking outside of the box. When I first saw it, it reminds me of Morrigan who often have her wings on her waist.

Hi, thanks for clarification :) What about the colour scheme, are you going to adjust it? Not that I don't like it but I prefer the teaser colour scheme more and to be honest the lack of green/turquoise dissapointed me a little bit and if colours were more bright, they would match with spell-effects more. [slayer-jinx-catface]

You're welcome! At this point, we won't be adjusting the color scheme. I think the misalignment between the teaser and the skin is, the egg in the teaser is in a cave (so the lighting is different), and the blue around it is the particle effect that lives around the egg in game. This is actually really good feedback in terms of teaser v. game models, simply because lighting can be a throw off in a lot of cases. ;_;

Excuse my copy pasta, but I think what I'd just posted to someone else can also apply here!

I completely agree on the buttwings, they'd be perfect if they were actually in the right spot. Also kinda disappointed in how different the eggs look from the teaser. The scaled texture was wicked imo.

Pretty agreed there... A was also expecting more green-purple color scheme from that teaser and the model looks pretty dull compared to spells, but I'm pretty sure they're gonna fix it sooner or later.

It's absolutely gorgeous, it's only the wings that strike it down (pun intended, noone would be able to fly like this).

I think the wings wouldn't be out of place if they came out form her shoulders instead of the lower back. And a bit ethereal like the little things around her wrists.

Imho her wings look very good - even near her butt. I dont like her abilities: The "only-purple" for a dragon-themed skin looks weird. Her W looks bland. Her E looks weird. Her Ult looks lame. And her plants... the range-one looks "ok", but the melee-one looks dumb af.

Hope now u understood me and maybe i enlightened u. ;)

The reason for the purple is because purple is seen as a regal color, adn dragons are regal creatures.

I actually love the wings and think they would honestly look weird if they were on her back/shoulders, not to mention if they were put there I feel that a lot of people would mistake this for a Morgana skin. Side note, the wings kind of make her hips look bigger and I'm all for that.
