It seems like the same core group continue to get new skins pretty regularly, while others haven't seen a new skin in years (Zyra for instance). Even a chroma would be a nice addition.
It really sucks to play a champion that gets no love from the art team. How about making skins for some of the champions that haven't seen one in ages, instead of continuing to make new skins for champions that already have several.
I wouldn't want to make new skins for champions that are severely underplayed either. There is a reason they don't, they focus their time on the champions that are being played, to bring in more money. $$$$$
First Ahri needs her 18th skin...then we can think about getting some champs their 3rd.
Sometimes its because the champion is under rework so it would feel like a waste of time to release a skin that they would have to rework the next month, or in the near future. This is the most likely reason. The second most likely is the fact that Skins cost money for Riot to make. Skins cost riot points. Riot doesn't want to waste time making a skin for a champion people don't play because they will be less likely to buy it. Therefore they make lots of skins for popular champs. Its all about the money.
The reason why Zyra doesn't get so many skins is because new skill effects for her require a new model for pretty much all of her spells(and their respective plants),meaning that her skins need a lot more work than for other champions.
No because it doesnt make them enough money and its not worth wasting time and resources on them.
Think about say it takes $10 for Riot to make a skin, but only 5 people buy it for $1. They've just lost a lot of money. (numbers jsut an example)
Its not really worth it for them, its a bad business decision.
