@Riot. What will happen to the old Summoner Icons?

Hey, we keep getting cool summoner icons, which is awesome, but next to the new ones the old ones look pretty bad. They are a lot lower quality. Are you replacing them with new ones or will they still be around? The minion- and monster ones could be replaced with the new art, for instance. But there's also the weird ones with trees and stuff. Any plans?

P.S. Even if you keep the old monster/minion icons, I'd love to see the new portraits as summoner icons.

Unfortunately Riot keeps giving us the impression that it doesn't know what it's doing, both in terms of lore and content.

So don't expect much.

Ahri's splash art wouldn't have been held back Wukong's splash art wouldn have kept him as a ginger monkey.

I don't think they don't care, they simply have no idea what the players want. Riot need someone who focuses solely on researching the opinions and interest of the playerbase. Things such as the Lore Retcon wouldn't have happened if they knew everyone would react that way.

In all honesty, I would always expect major complaints when I make a major change. It's a matter of whether or not one can handle the whiplash that's expected to occur. Narrative more than likely knew that OF COURSE some people would be disgruntled. They just didn't expect a bunch of rape and death threats.

You cannot satisfy everyone. You can appease 1 but disgruntle 3. As of right now there's a large ruckus about how Grave's is missing his cigar. I understand that it fits his character, and that smoking it is something he does, but that detail doesn't make him him. Regardless, a good number of people are upset and disgruntled over an "obligatory" action Rito had to take to continue working in other countries. Seriously, if Rito wasn't appeasing the "no tobacco" laws of a foreign country, then there would be no reason to take it away.

I've been the purple big minion for so long; I have no idea what I'd pick if that icon was changed or removed.

I hope they don't get rid of the old icons. I've been these "blue mountains" (what even is my icon? please tell me) since season 1. I don't have the heart to change it.
