There is Probably more to league world than just Runeterra

this is just a guess but if you look closely at the top of the map you will see what looks like north pole which makes runeterra a continent on northern hemisphere and that means there a lot out there that we dont know about

i can back this up with this threadhttps://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/h1O2atTN-bioluminescence-i-summon-you-because-of-map where rioter said it takes about 4 months for a small military force from noxus to reach demacia , other ppl tried to calculated the distance using historical move speed of medieval armies which is about 15-25 mile per day , which makes the distance between Noxus and Demacia roughly equivalent to the width of USA so either the planet is a dwarf planet or even a habitable moon which explains why the world is small OR its just an average size planet but the map doesnt reveal the rest of it and only revealing one continent

I believe Runeterra is the planet. What you're seeing on the map are the continents of Valoran, Shurima, Ionia, ect. It does seem a bit small. It feels like there would be more south of what we're seeing, as there should be an ice cap on the north and south pole. Its entirely possible that this could just be one side of the planet as well. Unless Riot said that this is all there is to Runeterra, I don't see a reason why there isn't room to theorize about the possibility of other continents. To me, it just looks like the northern hemisphere.

On reddit, Riot Bioluminescence stated that the map is about only 1/6 of runeterra. So there is more !!

Instead, I'll just confirm; the map that you're seeing is approx 1/6th of the surface of Runeterra. Lots of room to expand BUT the three continents (and change) that we already have is still full of mysteries and cool stuff to come :D

I've asked before, so I'm guessing it's something you don't want to reveal yet, but what hemisphere is the map located in? I get Europe/Asian vibes from it, and there's a large patch of ice up north. I'm trying to understand how or why what we see is only 1/6.

This is part of the northern hemisphere. The equator kinda bisects Icathia there. (You can even see if it you look at the Dev Diary closely).

It's three moons iirc, simply based on the Mount Targon icon though. We don't have any hints at the other moons other than the fact that there are more than one and that the Lunari pray to the Silver Moon.

Without risk of getting hit by lightning, are you aware if anyone (don't even need to name any) we've ever heard of or seen in the existing stories that came from beyond these 3 continents?

I want to know if the existence of the rest of the planet is official in story as well or we haven't seen anyone from beyond yet.

P.S: i was joking about taking up to 2030-35 to reveal the rest of the planet, i know it wont take that long. im counting on 2020 at worst case scenario.

Does that mean that World Runes could potentially be on other continents?

What everybody else is saying is true, Runeterra is a much bigger planet than we've been given full information on (yet). However, what the OP says is ALSO true, there's more to the LoL world than just RuneTerra: as shown by the lore of Malphite who's actually from a monolith outside of the world of RuneTerra

It's probably going to be like an Elder Scrolls thing, and we won't get to know much about other continents (if at all). Most of the game's focus is around the continent of Tamriel, even though Nirn is quite a bit bigger than that.
